    NBA ANNOUNCES AFFILIATIONS WITH NBA DEVELOPMENT LEAGUE FOR 2010-11 SEASON - Dallas Mavericks Begin Affiliation with Frisco-Based Texas Legends - NEW YORK , July 6, 2010 – The National Basketball Association and the NBA Development League, the official minor league of the NBA, today announced the affiliation system for the 2010-11 season, including first-time affiliations between the Dallas Mavericks and the Frisco-based Texas Legends, new to the NBA D-League for the 2010-11 season; the Los Angeles Lakers and the Bakersfield Jam; the Golden State Warriors and the Reno Bighorns; and the Orlando Magic and the New Mexico Thunderbirds. For the sixth consecutive year, each NBA team has one NBA D-League affiliate to which it may assign players in their first or second NBA season. “The direct affiliation between NBA and NBA D-League teams continues to benefit players, coaches, and basketball fans," said Dan Reed, NBA D-League President. "Nearly one-third of all NBA Draft picks have played for their NBA D-League affiliate since the program's inception, and these affiliate relationships are a key reason why 20 percent of all NBA players have NBA D-League playing experience." Entering the sixth year of direct affiliations between NBA and NBA D-League, a number of teams continue to build on strong affiliation relationships developed over past seasons.     Robert Mulcahy Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Innovation, achievement and excellence have been the hallmarks of Robert Mulcahy’s tenure as Director of Athletics at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. Since coming to Rutgers in 1998, Mulcahy has been the guiding force in the continued development of the university’s Division of Intercollegiate Athletics program. He is committed to the ideal that Rutgers Athletics will provide the best possible experience for its student-athletes. Mulcahy’s vision for Rutgers Athletics has led the division to unprecedented development and accomplishment. Wide-ranging improvements in facilities have allowed the division to function at greater efficiency, thus enabling opportunity for greater success for Rutgers student-athletes, both in the classroom and on the playing field. Mulcahy’s leadership has brought reality to this vision. He has been responsible for raising the division’s endowment by $4 million, and was instrumental in developing and securing outside revenue totaling $24 million, resulting in the renovation, and construction, of a number of facilities. Capital projects from this funding include the expansion and enhancement of the Hale Center, allowing it to become one of the finest of its kind nationally, with an expansive strength and conditioning facility, a state of the art training room and academic support facilities which include classrooms, study rooms and computer labs. Rutgers Stadium has enjoyed significant enhancements under Mulcahy’s watch, as well, and now features a state-of-the-art scoreboard and Field Turf playing surface, all helping to ensure the best possible experience for student-athletes and fans. Other projects have resulted in a modern, state-of-the-art academic support laboratory in the Louis Brown Athletic Center (the “RAC”), as well as an expanded weight training complex, and a modern media headquarters and interview facility.

On Steve Novak's case ever since he set foot on Marquette University's campus to unleash that silky stroke at any and every opportunity, the Golden Eagles coach sat MU Basketball back Tuesday and watched his senior forward single-handedly dismantle the second- ranked team in the country with a shooting night for the ages. With the lights at their brightest as MU played its first game in the Big East Conference, the 6-foot-10 Brown Deer native hit shots from every conceivable distance and angle on Al McGuire Court at the Bradley Center, finishing with a personal-high 41 points to lead the Golden Eagles to a stunningly easy, 94-79 victory over the Connecticut Huskies. Sending the crowd of 15,831 into a frenzy with each successive shot, Novak drained 12 of 20 overall and 6 of 13 from three-point range despite Huskies coach Jim Calhoun running a who's who of defenders - 6-11 Hilton Armstrong, 6-10 Josh Boone, 6-9 Rudy Gay and 6-5 Rashad Anderson - at him all game long. Designated team practice times and live games against high-level American players, including NBA players, provide teams with an opportunity to prepare for their upcoming competition while also developing individually. Each team’s program will be completely customized to fit their schedule, with direct consultation from the team’s coaching staff and management. We will integrate any and all concepts that the coaching staff would like to implement and focus the training on areas that the team’s coaches have deemed deficient. Our incorporation of off-site training and team-building exercises make this a one-of-a-kind opportunity for team and individual development. We have the ability to provide training options for the entire team or for a smaller group of the team’s players. The Impact staff can help set up all the housing, food, and transportation needs for the team.
