16Th Anugerah Planet Muzik Sets to Entertain and Dazzle with a New Generation of Artistes For immediate release Media Release 16th Anugerah Planet Muzik sets to entertain and dazzle with a new generation of artistes Kuala Lumpur, 24 August 2017 – Marking the 16th edition of the regional Malay music awards show, Anugerah Planet Muzik (APM 2017) continues to honour and bring together outstanding artistes and music industry professionals. Organised by Mediacorp Suria, Warna 94.2FM and Ria 89.7FM, APM 2017 will be held at MES Theatre at Mediacorp, Singapore on Saturday, 14 October 2017 at 9.00pm (GMT +8) for 2.5 hours. Viewers and listeners can catch the ‘LIVE’ broadcast on Suria channel and radio stations Ria 89.7FM and Warna 94.2FM as well as online streaming via Toggle LIVE. Malaysian viewers can tune in to Astro Ria (Channel 104) and Ria HD (Channel 123) to watch the exhilarating performances. Bringing a fresh outlook, APM 2017 will feature a new generation of artistes discovered largely from social media platforms and is set to entertain and dazzle with a stellar line-up such as Ayda Jebat, Aisyah Aziz, Isyana Sarasvati, Virgoun, Gloria Jessica, Hael Husaini, and many more. A total of 19 awards will be presented in APM 2017. The nominees are announced in a media conference held today at Orchard Hotel. (Please refer to the award categories in Annex A.) Music fans and enthusiasts are also given the opportunity to vote for their favourite songs and artistes in fan-driven categories from 22 August until 14 October, 10.00pm on Toggle at toggle.sg/apm. The categories are Most Popular Artiste (Singapore), Most Popular Song (Singapore), APM Most Popular Artiste, APM Most Popular Song and Social Media Icon. Head of Mediacorp Malay Community, Ms Zakiah Halim, shares her excitement, “Anugerah Planet Muzik continues to recognise and honour the best music acts in the region. What is exciting this year is that we are witnessing the rise of a new generation of young artistes coming into prominence with large number of followers on the digital and social media platforms. The APM Prelude is the highlight of the F1NALE Concert that will feature 6 top singers from the region such as Aisyah Aziz and Harris Baba (Singapore), Ayda Jebat and Hael Husaini (Malaysia) as well as Dato’ Rossa and Anji (Indonesia). The concert will be held on Sunday, 1 October 2017 at the B Hillstand, Sepang from 6.00pm as the closing for the final F1 race in Malaysia.
