Op elke afdeling worden wekelijks activiteiten gegeven in kleine groepjes, deze worden medegedeeld via het weekschema. De bar is momenteel gesloten, tot nader bericht. 4 We namen afscheid Roger Deberdt Roger Deberdt was geboren op 6 april 1929. Hij werd dokter en studeerde verder voor neuropsychiater. Hij werkte 50 jaar als gerechtspsychiater. Roger was gehuwd met Annie Decaestecker en samen hebben ze 1 zoon Benedict. Samenwoonden ze in de Poperingseweg te Ieper. Zoon Benedict is notaris in Tielt en gehuwd met Sofie, samen hebben ze 2 kinderen Géraldine en Charles. Roger en Annie kwamen op 21 oktober 2020 naar ons WZC wonen. We leerden meneer Deberdt kennen als iemand die nog veel bezig was met zijn werk als gerechtspsychiater, hij vertelde er graag over.

    An Unlikely Elite An Unlikely Elite by Vicki Thomas 1 An Unlikely Elite Preface I started this book last spring. Iʼm not really sure where the idea came from to write this book. It just really seemed to make sense to spend time writing something more than blog posts about my life as a cyclo-cross racer. In 2008 I set a big goal of racing at the elite World Cyclo-Cross Championships. This was really my “pie in the sky” goal. I really wanted to accomplish it but I wasnʼt sure I could do it. But with the amazing support from my husband Marc, my coach Steve Weller, my sponsors, and my training partners - I achieved my goal and raced at the World Cyclo-Cross Championships in Tabor, Czech Republic in January 2010. This race truly was a dream race for me. Everything went right and I had one of those perfect days on the bike. A true culmination of the training, hard work and sacrifices made along the way. It is now early February 2011 and Iʼm just about to return home to Ottawa after spending three months in Belgium. This past cyclo-cross season did not go as planned. In addition to racing my competitors, I unfortunately was battling my body and this time my body won out. My body and my ulcerative colitis forced me to stop racing and training and my 2010-2011 season ended with the Koksijde World Cup in late November. This definitely was not according to plan. The experiences of this past season have made this book even more special to me.
