HARRIS OF SAU NAMED CIAA ROOKIE OF THE WEEK Joseph Harris, Jr. (Fr./Jacksonville, FL) of Saint Augustine’s University was named CIAA Football Rookie of the Week on Monday, Oct. 29, after a stellar performance against Johnson C. Smith University on Saturday, Oct. 27. He was the Falcons’ co- leader in tackles (8) and broke up a pass in the contest. The Falcons’ linebacker ranks fi rst on the team and is tied for fi fth in the CIAA in tackles (53) this season. He is a three-time CIAA football weekly award winner – twice for CIAA Rookie of the Week and once for CIAA Linebacker of the Week. On Oct. 6, Harris nearly broke the school CIAA STANDINGS single-game record in the modern era with 17 tackles in a 26-15 win over Livingstone Northern Division Conf. Ovr. College in Salisbury, N.C.
