La Rosa de Tokio es un programa dedicado a difundir el apasionante mundo de la radio y del diexismo que se transmite semanalmente desde los estudios de LS11 Radio Provincia de Buenos Aires.

ARGENTINA Los bonaerenses ya tienen quién los refleje, interpele y entretenga. Radio Provincia , la emisora pública del Gobierno de la provincia de Buenos Aires, presentó su nueva programación, la cual tomará el aire de la AM 1270 ni bien la pandemia lo permita. Bajo el slogan “La radio une” , la emisora bajo gestión de Marcelo Figueras -flamante director- diseñó una grilla que se propone informar con comunicadores jóvenes y la opinión de algunos reconocidos especialistas, pero en la que la música circulará por todo el aire, todo el tiempo. Rocío López, Matías Sáez, Gabriela Pepe, Paula Bistagnino, Valeria Weise, Feno Tartaglia, Gabriel Schultz y Eduardo Alller son algunos de los conductores de la programación diaria. Además, los podcasts estarán a la orden del día, con la voces del Indio Solari, Alfredo Zaiat, Graciana Peñafort, Isabel de Sebastián, Hernán Lechter y Horacio Verbitsky, entre otros. En tanto, la FM 97.1 definirá su nueva programación en las próximas semanas.

“Vamos a difundir lo que está ocurriendo ahora, lo que está vivo de verdad, y más aún: tenemos el deber de hacerlo, desde que somos una radio estatal y nuestra tarea es comunicar lo que nuestra gente crea y no lo que dictan las corporaciones”, detalló Figueras a Página/12 . “A comienzos de 2020 -cuenta el periodista y escritor- Radio Provincia era un barco perforado por debajo de la línea de flotación: en emergencia técnica, con trabajadores en condiciones precarias y desprovistos de recursos elementales de trabajo. Razón por la cual impresiona aún más el hecho de que, durante los últimos años, parte de ese personal se haya cargado la radio al hombro e impedido que se hundiese del todo”. La programación diaria comenzará a las 7 con La mecha , un ciclo informativo que conducirán Rocío López y Matías Sáez. Gabriela Pepe y Paula Bistagnino se harán cargo del aire de la AM 1270 desde las 10, como Todo ese ruido , que buscará “sacar a la luz la agenda real, que a menudo se opone a la dictada por los grande intereses”. La tira deportiva tendrá su espacio desde las 13, con Feno Tartaglia informando la actualidad del deporte provincial y nacional. A las 15 llegará el turno de Tarea fina , un magazine con el que Eduardo Aller intentará desmenuzar la información en profundidad, podcast mediante. El regreso será a pura información y humor con Bien de radio , con Valeria Weise y Gabriel Schultz haciendo más llevadera la vuelta a casa. La noche de Radio Provincia estará reservada a distintos espacios semanales. Los lunes, a las 20, el gobernador Axel Kicillof tendrá su hora al aire , en un ciclo en el que tendrá diálogo abierto con los bonaerenses. A las 21, en tanto, el colectivo trans tendrá su propia voz con Sudaca , el ciclo conducido por Claudia Vázquez Haro. La noche de los martes estarán monopolizadas por la mirada del poeta y cineasta César González (Camilo Blajaquis); la de los miércoles serán sólo para ellas con La la las , el programa dedicado exclusivamente a las artistas argentinas que hacen músicas, que animará Carolina Muzi; mientras que los jueves se transmitirá el ciclo de entrevistas que el mismísimo Figueras encabezará desde el auditorio de la Casa de la Provincia en la Ciudad de Buenos Aires. Las 22, de lunes a jueves, será el momento para la literatura y pensar más allá de la realidad, con narraciones y entrevistas a cargo de Enzo Maqueira y Ayelén Oliva en Narraciones extraordinarias . Durante los fines de semana, a la transmisión propia de los partidos de fútbol de los equipos bonaerenses se le sumará la de los principales encuentros a nivel nacional junto al equipo Relatores , liderado por Víctor Hugo Morales . “Nuestra radio -define Figueras- tiene una característica que la diferencia del resto de la oferta actual: es un medio oficial, que tiene la responsabilidad de reflejar la vida y los intereses del pueblo de la provincia; y también, a la vez, de proporcionar la información y las claves que lo ayuden a salir a las calles sin ser arrollado por una realidad que cambia, y de modo sorprendente, día tras día. Por eso vamos a dedicarnos a lo que está vivo, los fenómenos actuantes y en desarrollo. En este contexto, no ser una radio mainstream -es decir, no tener la necesidad de competir con los tanques tradicionales del medio- es una ventaja. No existe la obligación de hacer un negocio de la nostalgia ni de pasar éxitos para sobrevivir comercialmente. Como radio estatal nos dedicamos a los temas y los fenómenos de los que nadie más habla, ya sea porque no les conviene o porque no les reporta ganancias; y difundimos lo que casi nadie difunde. En este caso, la nueva producción -cultural, social, política- con énfasis en lo bonaerense.” En medio de una pandemia que amenaza con transformar el régimen instituido, en el que las certezas del capitalismo financiero se derrumban con final incierto, la radio carga con el peso de adaptarse a su propia revolución . Los cambios en la forma de producción, circulación y consumo de la información y la cultura no le pueden ser ajenos. Bien claro lo tiene la nueva gestión de Radio Provincia, que entiende a la transmisión de aire como un aspecto más de un proyecto integral de sonidos a disposición de todas y cada una de las distintas demandas de estos tiempos. Por eso los podcasts serán protagonistas en la emisora, con el Indio Solari como figura saliente de una nueva y digital manera de hacer radio por otros medios. El músico, además, musicalizará diferentes espacios desde su alter ego DJ Martini . “Las radios de hoy en general, y Radio Provincia en particular, deben reconfigurarse para atender a las demandas y necesidades de un mundo -y de un público- nuevo, que si va a escucharnos lo hará ante todo a través de nuestra aplicación y vía streaming”, analiza Figueras. “Mientras avanza el proceso que permitirá asegurar y sostener la calidad de la emisión tradicional, concentraremos esfuerzos en la difusión digital: las nuevas páginas de la radio (una de la AM, una de FM, una de noticias), los podcasts (en las voces de figuras como el Indio Solari, Horacio Verbitsky, Graciana Peñafort, Alfredo Zaiat y Hernán Letcher, entre otres), la comunicación de nuestras notas y contenidos a través de Twitter, Facebook, Instagram. Si algo resulta indiscutible es que el eventual crecimiento no pasará por la emisión tradicional , sino por la circulación de su producción por las redes”, arriesga el director y autor de El rey de los espinos y El muchacho peronista , entre otras novelas. (tomada íntegramente de Página 12) Más Neuquén era un pueblo de poco más de 5000 habitantes en abril de 1945. Era un reducido caserío y los barrios cercanos recién comenzaban a tener un incipiente desarrollo. Faltaba de todo. El pavimento era un sueño que parecía imposible de concretar y en la ciudad reinaban la arena y los cardos rusos que rodaban a merced del viento. La idea de pedir la provincialización para dejar de ser un territorio nacional todavía no había madurado en las mentes de los dirigentes políticos de aquella época. Lo haría 10 años después. Eran tiempos en los que la sociedad neuquina se informaba como podía. No se escuchaban otras radios que no fueran las chilenas o las débiles señales de las emisoras que llegaban desde Buenos Aires. Los diarios de aquella época no tenían la inmediatez de las noticias como ahora. Las comunicaciones eran realmente dificultosas.

En 1945 había una gran necesidad de información porque el mundo estaba cambiando. La Segunda Guerra Mundial transitaba su último tramo ya que los países aliados estaban dando el último gran golpe al Ejército de la Alemania nazi. La rendición era cuestión de días. Por eso, en Neuquén había mucha ansiedad para saber cómo terminaría aquella increíble escalada de violencia que involucraba a muchos países de origen de centenares de familias que habían llegado a este rincón de la Patagonia a principios de siglo. Las gestiones para que el territorio contara con una nueva emisora habían comenzado mucho antes. En efecto, la radio había sido creada en 1939, pero debido al inicio de la guerra fue imposible contar con los equipos técnicos. Quienes participaban del ritual de sentarse alrededor de una radio a válvula se sorprendieron a principios de abril cuando una señal fuerte y clara comenzó a salir de los parlantes. Era LU5, el eslabón patagónico de la cadena Splendid que estaba haciendo sus pruebas para salir al aire desde la planta transmisora ubicada en Colonia Confluencia. Durante aquellas primeras pruebas se transmitía dos horas a la mañana y ocho a la tarde, hasta que se terminaron de ajustar los detalles técnicos necesarios para que todo saliera bien. Poco tiempo antes, las autoridades habían realizado un casting entre vecinos de la ciudad que tuvieran ganas de trabajar en la nueva emisora. Así, llegaron los primeros locutores que, en su mayoría, eran docentes que se sumaron a un grupo de técnicos. La radio comenzaba a tener su propia identidad neuquina. Una de las voces pioneras que tuvo la radio fue la de Rita Salto, una joven estudiante de magisterio que quedó seleccionada para ser parte del staff. Otra, inconfundible, fue la de Eduardo Camilo Alizeri. El 10 de abril de 1945 fue el punto de inflexión en la historia de la radiofonía neuquina. “ÑANE RETÃ PURAHÉI” e ra el título del programa de Radio Nuevo Mundo de San Lorenzo, creado en el año 1978 y dirigido por Ángel Antonio Gini Jara, un locutor, actor y escritor, cuyo aniversario de fallecimiento se recordó el pasado 7 de abril, quien ha dejado muestras de su talento como actor con su participación en importantes obras teatrales y en películas nacionales como “Cerro Corá”, en la radio con programas de muy alto nivel y como escritor, con dos obras dedicadas a los artistas Samuel Aguayo y Rubito Medina, que constituyen aportes valiosos a la cultura autóctona.

El programa mencionado –que se mantuvo por 40 años al aire en diversos medios radiales hasta el fallecimiento de su creador– ha contado con la participación de otros destacados locutores como Elpidio Alcaraz Segovia, Arnildo Gómez y el profesor Pedro Moliniers, un docente de una tarea fundamental en la enseñanza, investigación y divulgación de nuestro idioma guaraní. El espacio radial tenía como característica principal la difusión de las páginas del acervo musical nativo y homenajear a los músicos y compositores de trayectoria que han hecho aportes significativos al arte musical de la patria. Igualmente, una parte importante del programa era destinada a la divulgación de obras en guaraní a cargo del profesor Moliniers. Y es con mucha satisfacción que hoy estamos ante una imponente corriente de profundización de todo cuanto guarda relación con la preservación, promoción y difusión de nuestro idioma nativo. La promulgación de normas de rango constitucional, la creación de instituciones de investigación y academias de la lengua, la enseñanza en las instituciones educativas, las creaciones literarias, el uso diario en los medios de comunicación, etc., nos hace presumir que la raíz principal de nuestra raza podrá perdurar por muchos años y seguirá constituyendo el principal elemento que hace a la identidad del paraguayo. Por ello es que hoy tenemos que valorar todo el aporte cultural y científico del que goza nuestro idioma nativo, mediante la dedicación y el trabajo investigativo de cientos de miles de docentes y escritores, quienes, con su aporte al idioma guaraní, van a dejar una herencia cultural, que las generaciones venideras de paraguayos sabremos valorarlos hasta el fin de los tiempos. Todo listo para el inicio de las clases escolares virtuales que se inició este lunes 6 de abril. La estrategia 'Aprendo en casa' del Ministerio de Educación (Minedu) ha recibido el respaldo de más de 335 radios de las 25 regiones del Perú. Ellas emitirán el contenido radial elaborado por el sector para cinco niveles y modalidades: Educación inicial, primaria, secundaria, Básica Especial, Básica Alternativa y Educación Intercultural Bilingüe.

Este apoyo los medios regionales se suma al que ya se había confirmado de parte de las radioemisoras del Comité de Radio, que agrupa a varias de las empresas de radiodifusión más grandes del país. Además de ofrecer horas de transmisión, estas radios se han ofrecido a albergar en sus sitios web los audios de 'Aprendo en casa'.

El componente radial de la estrategia 'Aprendo en casa' está especialmente enfocado en atender a la población que tiene dificultades de acceso a internet y a televisión, y con especial énfasis en zonas rurales y de frontera.

En esa línea, entre las radios que han ofrecido su apoyo hay más de 30 que transmitirán en alguna de las siguientes lenguas originarias: quechua collao, quechua chanka, quechua central, aimara, shipibo, ashaninka, awajun, yanesha y shawi.

Los contenidos radiales de 'Aprendo en casa' estarán al alcance de toda la comunidad educativa del país desde este lunes 6 de abril, en una programación diaria de 4 horas y 45 minutos, por la señal de Radio Nacional.

El Minedu, en coordinación con el Ministerio de Transportes y Comunicaciones, invita a los canales de televisión y a las radioemisoras a seguir sumándose a la estrategia 'Aprendo en casa', que busca beneficiar a más de 6 millones de estudiantes de escuelas y colegios públicos del país.

La emisora Kariñosa 106.1 FM ubicada en el municipio Guanipa, en el sur de Anzoátegui, fue cerrada el martes 7 de abril por la Comisión Nacional de Telecomunicaciones (Conatel) bajo el argumento de que operaba de manera ilegal. Los equipos de la emisora fueron decomisados.

El propietario de la radio, Efrén Arocha, declaró este miércoles 8 de abril vía telefónica a El Pitazo que funcionarios de Conatel y la Guardia Nacional se presentaron en la emisora y lo llamaron para que se presentara en el sitio. “Estamos en cuarentena y no entiendo este procedimiento. Sin embargo, yo acudí porque me dijeron que si no me presentaba me iban a buscar con la guardia, al llegar pidieron revisar la documentación y en efecto está vencida la concesión, pero qué emisora no la tiene vencida si Conatel no la tramita”, dijo Arocha. Arocha precisó que esto más allá de la documentación es una acción política atendiendo “peticiones del alcalde de Guanipa, Francisco Belisario Landis, por los comentarios emitidos por los propios radioescucha en el programa del locutor Rodney López “Rodney a las 5” que se trasmitía de 5:00 am a 8:00 am y en “Moliendo Café”, que se transmitía de 8:00 am a 10:00 am”, apuntó. El empresario destacó que Kariñosa 106.1 FM tenía 13 años funcionando y es primera vez que se le presenta una situación como está. Indicó que en el procedimiento le decomisaron dos micrófonos, una computadora, el transmisor y la consola de sonido valorado en 10.000 dólares “Los funcionarios de Conatel dijeron que tenía cinco días hábiles para reclamar a Conatel en Caracas el procedimiento, y yo me pregunto: ¿cómo voy a Caracas y cuáles son los días hábiles si estamos en cuarentena? Por eso yo esto lo veo es como un pase de factura simplemente porque al alcalde no le gustó que alguien llamara al programa y preguntara por las cajas Clap que debían ser entregadas en los sectores”, enfatizó. Con el cierre de la emisora quedan 12 trabajadores desempleados y varios clientes con publicidad paga suspendida. Sobre el cierre de la emisora Kariñosa 106.1 FM, el alcalde de Guanipa Francisco Belisario Landis se pronunció este miércoles en rueda de prensa. Negó lo que consideró una versión irresponsable que ha circulado sobre un procedimiento gubernamental abusivo y arbitrario sobre la emisora. «Yo como alcalde lo desmiento categóricamente tan nefasta vertían toda vez que una comisión de Conatel efectuó una inspección a la mencionada emisora y detectó que estaba operando ilegalmente y en consecuencia aplicó el procedimiento administrativo sancionatorio de ley por el uso clandestino del espectro radioeléctrico”, expresó. El mandatario local aseguró que ese tipo de acción aplica el cierre inmediato y definitivo de la emisora y la vez la retención de todo el sistema de difusión según lo establecido en la actual Ley Orgánica de Telecomunicaciones. “Ante este hecho el poder ejecutivo municipal conjuntamente con el poder legislativo, independientemente del accionar de Conatel diligenciará la averiguación administrativa pertinente en virtud a que presuntamente se desarrolló por varios años una actividad económica ilegal con el concurso de patrocinantes y con toda una programación cuyos fines e intereses solicitaremos sea debidamente evaluados por las autoridades competentes no descartándose que dicha averiguación permita formular una denuncia ante el Ministerio Público por la presunta comisión de hechos punibles contemplados en nuestro Código Penal vigente”, indicó Belisario.(El Pitazo)

LA RADIO EN LA LITERATURA: AUSTERLITZ

“Si el pueblo desconoce su pasado es vulnerable a las mentiras del presente” [Geoffrey Regan ]

Cansado de los pseudoescritores ¿o debemos escribir escritoras? le hinqué el diente a este gran escritor alemán que falleció poco antes de que esta novela viera la luz. Sin duda un gran maestro, un gran profesor y un gran relator [aunque nada tenga que ver con el invento del guapito para solucionar el tema del oasis] que nos dio varios días de feliz lectura y de hurgar en nuestros mismos recuerdos aunque en épocas diferentes. Se trata de un relato prácticamente sin puntos y aparte [a veces, como si te invitara a respirar tiene unas viejas ilustraciones para hacer más creíble su historia e, incluso uno podría colegir que es una biografía porque encajan cantidad de cosas en esa novela de vértigo que narra una etapa no muy gloriosa de la vieja Europa y que 75 años después parece que a nada nos llevó porque ya andamos otra vez con las “peleas” de gallos o de chulitos ignorantes que quieren pastar a costa de nuestro esfuerzo y, la política, parece ser la mejor opción para esa gente que, muchas veces, sin oficio ni beneficio, se aparcan en la poltrona y ¡hala!, a vivir que son dos días. Nada de lo que se había dicho en la campaña electoral se respeta y, encima, se cachondean cuando se hacen con las poltronas a las que se adhieren como lapas: no hay manera de que se bajen y, si alguno se baja, es un drama] en donde a través de un personaje que a mí siempre me llevaba a la estación ferroviaria homónima de la capital francesa, nos va metiendo en la problemática que se desata en la década de los treinta del pasado siglo y finaliza hacia finales de siglo en Sudráfrica, no por casualidad, sino por necesidad: había que buscar refugio en donde fuera para tratar de sobrevivir a la barbarie y, entonces, África del Sur era un paraíso en comparación a cómo se encuentra ahora por obra y gracia de los necios que piensan que el problema es el color y no la capacidad y el sacrificio.

Y como escribiera el gran literato sudafricano Coetzee: “El gran tema de Sebald es la memoria y la carga de la memoria. Como todos sus personajes, su narrador omnipresente, lo llamemos o no “Sebald”, es un melancólico; y la raíz de esa melancolía común, la del, narrador y de los personajes, es la historia de Europa del siglo XX, una historia sobre la que se cierne la alargada sombra de Alemania y de la suerte de los judíos europeos. Todos se ven desgarrados internamente entre, por un lado, una autoprotectora necesidad de bloquear un pasado doloroso y, por otra, una búsqueda ciega de algo –no saben qué- perdido”. Digamos que Sebald no es precisamente uno de los autores fáciles de leer y a ello le añade ese río, continuo, de la escritura sin descanso, un relato que te deja enganchado y que necesita concentración. Si además encuentras pasajes o lugares por los que has estado, entonces ya no deseas dejar ese libro de casi 300 páginas en las que, pocas cosas hay que desentonen. De hecho sólo encontré una fecha que no cuadra con la historia, sin duda un baile de números o un simple despiste a la hora de teclear la versión en español; en la página 156 dice “en mayo de 1993” cuando en realidad es 1939. Por lo demás, un buen trabajo del autor alemán y de su traductor Miguel Sáenz. Y ahora vayamos a la parte que nos interesa para esta serie de La radio en la literatura, hay unos cuantos párrafos de interés y desperdigados numerosas referencias a Petrin que es la colina en la que se halla la famosa torre de radiotelevisión de Praga que tiene bastante parecido con la famosa torre de París. Paseos por esa preciosidad de colina, las referencias al barrio judío de Praga o incluso las instituciones que visitaba Austerlitz, te hacen reflexionar y descansar al dejar ir tu memoria a aquellos fantásticos recuerdos de tu primer viaje a Praga y la presencia en la Tribuna de Invitados para aquel fantástico primero de mayo que nunca se olvida. Curioso, en aquella época de escasez, había concursos que te permitían ciertas cosas; hoy hay alienación y no queda tiempo para el dichoso trabajo bien hecho, por no decir todos los recursos para mí y mis secuaces, demostrando que la voracidad de la especie, del bicho humano, no tiene límite o como dirían en mi pueblo “no tienen hartura” –léase con h aspirada para hacerlo más jameño-. Y ahora sí, ahora toca ir al capítulo de la radio en Austerlitz, espero que lo disfruten todos nuestros seguidores.

“Reinaba el silencio en la librería y sólo de la pequeña radio que Penélope, como siempre, tenía a su lado, surgían voces suaves, y esas voces, al principio apenas perceptibles pero pronto para mí sumamente claras, me cautivaron de tal modo que olvidé totalmente las hojas que tenía ante mí y me quedé inmóvil, como si no pudiera perderme ni una de las sílabas que salían de aquel aparato, un tanto chirriante. Lo que oí fueron las voces de dos mujeres, que hablaban entre sí de cómo en el verano de 1939, siendo niñas, las habían enviado a Inglaterra en un transporte especial. Mencionaron toda una serie de ciudades –Viena, Munich, Danzing, Bratislava, Berlín-, pero sólo cuando una de las dos comenzó a decir que su transporte, después de un viaje de dos días a través del Deutsche Reich y de Holanda, donde habían visto desde el tren las grandes aspas de los molinos de viento, había sido con el transbordador Prague de Hock a Harwick, por el Mar del Norte, supe, sin lugar a dudas, que aquellos recuerdos fragmentarios eran también parte de mi vida. Estaba demasiado asustado por la súbita revelación para anotar las direcciones y números de teléfono al final del programa. Me veía sólo aguardando, en un muelle, en una larga fila doble de niños que en su mayoría llevaban mochilas o carteras”. [143/144]

“Junto a la cama había una pequeña caja de Château Gruaud-Larose, con su escudo negro grabado a fuego y, sobre la caja, el resplandor suave de una lámpara, un vaso, una garrafa de agua y una antigua radio en una caja de baquelita marrón oscuro”. [167]

“Antes de acostarme, encendí la radio que estaba junto a mi cama, sobre la caja de Burdeos. En su cuadrante, iluminado y redondo, aparecían los nombres de las ciudades y estaciones con las que, en mi infancia, relacionaba las más exóticas ideas: Monte Carlo, Roma, Ljubljana, Estocolmo, Bermünster, Hilversum, Praga y otras. Puse el volumen muy bajo y escuché un idioma para mí incomprensible que desde gran distancia, se esparcía por el éter, una voz de mujer que a veces se hundía entre las olas, luego emergía de nuevo y se cruzaba con el juego de dos manos cuidadosas que, en algún lugar desconocido para mí, me movían sobre el teclado de un Bösendorfer o un Pleyel, produciendo fragmentos musicales que me acompañaron hasta muy entrado en el sueño, creo que de El clave bien temperado. Cuando me desperté por la mañana, de la rejilla de latón de apretada malla del altavoz sólo venía un débil ruido de fondo y una especie de arrastrar. Poco después, en el desayuno, cuando me puse a hablar de la misteriosa radio, Austerlitz dijo que él tenía la opinión de que las voces que, al comenzar la oscuridad, atravesaban el aire y de las que podíamos captar muy poco, tenían, como los murciélagos, su propia vida, que rehuía la luz del sol. A menudo, en sus largas noches de insomnio de los últimos años, las veía al oír a las locutoras de Budapest, Helsinki o La Coruña, seguir muy lejos sus caminos zigzagueantes y deseaba estar en su compañía” [167/168]

“En la radio se precipitaban las noticias que daban los locutores con un tono curiosamente agudo, exprimido de la garganta, de los éxitos innegables de la Wehrmacht, que pronto ocuparía todo el continente europeo y cuyas campañas poco a poco, con una lógica aparentemente aplastante, abrían a los alemanes la perspectiva de un imperio, en el que todos, gracias a pertenecer a aquel pueblo elegido, seguirían la carrera más brillante”. “A finales de otoño de 1941, creo, dijo Vera, que Agáta tuvo que llevar al llamado Centro de Entrega Obligatoria la radio, su gramófono, con los discos que tanto quería, sus prismáticos y gemelos de ópera, los instrumentos de música, sus joyas, las pieles y el guardarropa que había dejado Maximilian.” [178]

Y hasta aquí lo más destacado sobre la radio. En algún caso nos está narrando el comportamiento de la onda media que con la llegada de la noche permite captar estaciones sumamente lejanas y que al levantar el alba éstas desaparecen. Incluso durante la noche cerrada se van viendo desaparecer algunas de ellas y en el mismo punto salen otras. Recordemos que en la época la radio no funcionaba las 24 horas del día y, en el continente europeo, casi todas las estaciones eran de titularidad pública, o sea: de los gobiernos que ejercían un control sobre sus operaciones radiales. Personalmente me quedaba muchas noches para escuchar las emisiones de Monte Carlo y Luxemburgo, o incluso la del Sarre o Europa número 1 con un tipo de música que en los años sesenta/setenta no era habitual en España, mucho menos en mi provincia de nacimiento: Granada. Las emisoras del Este eran una delicia por la música clásica que divulgaban, especialmente excepcional era la recepción de Praga y Budapest, una joya para los oídos. También el personaje central de la novela, sin saberlo, estaba realizando esa maravillosa afición del mundo de la radioescucha y, quien sabe si Sabeld fue un amante de las tarjetas QSL o simplemente se dedicaba a escuchar la radio y a disfrutar, e imaginamos que a soñar con esas ondas voladoras que cada vez escasean más y en donde la concentración de medios están acabando con infinidad de estaciones y, en muchos casos, desmontando los sistemas públicos de radiodifusión que tanto hicieron para cohesionar al continente y llevar libertad a lugares en donde no siempre existía esa posibilidad.

Meedhupparu es una isla de coral al este del atolón Maalhosmadulhu del norte en las Maldivas. La vida silvestre nativa consiste principalmente de cuervos, murciélagos, cangrejos y gecos. ISLA MARTINICA IOTA (NA-107) FM/OQ3R del 25 de mayo al 6 de junio de 2020.

La isla de la Martinica es un departamento de ultramar francés ubicado al norte de Santa Lucía, en aguas del mar Caribe como tal, constituye una región ultra periférica de la Unión Europea. Cristóbal Colón fue el primer navegante europeo en llegar a la isla el 15 de junio de 1502 pero, salvo en tres ocasiones en que ha sido ocupada brevemente por otras naciones, la isla ha permanecido bajo dominio francés desde su colonización en el año de 1635. Con una superficie total de 1.100 km2 y una población de 432.990 habitantes, el terreno es montañoso en esta isla de origen volcánico. El mensaje de texto del satélite es: "Mantente saludable, quédate en casa #LawanCorona (Fight Coronavirus)". Sonny Dwi Harsono, YD1SCC, investigador del Centro para el Desarrollo de Tecnología Satelital, explicó que incluir el mensaje de texto APRS era una forma de apoyo a las políticas gubernamentales sobre el distanciamiento social en Indonesia. Hasta la fecha, el mensaje ha sido recibido por docenas de miembros de ORARI en toda Indonesia, dijo Harsono. Finalmente, dijo, los planes requieren tratar de distribuir el mensaje a través de IO-86 cada 100 minutos bajo ciertas condiciones. Se están trabajando los detalles técnicos. EMPRESA QUIERE RECUPERAR LA ESTACIÓN DE RADIO DEL TITANIC

La empresa que ha recuperado cubiertos de plata, porcelana y monedas de oro de los restos del Titanic ahora pretende sacar la estación de radio que transmitió los mensajes de auxilio cada vez más desesperados de la nave antes de hundirse.

Los abogados de R.M.S. Titanic Inc. presentaron el jueves a testigos para que explicaran a una jueza por qué debe autorizarse a la compañía ingresar en los restos del trasatlántico para retirar el aparato antes de que sea irrecuperable.

“Es un artefacto icónico, como las bengalas” lanzadas desde el Titanic cuando se hundía, testificó David Gallo, oceanógrafo retirado de la Institución Oceanográfica Woods Hole y que ahora es consultor pagado por la firma.

Gallo, que testificó ante la corte federal en Norfolk, Virginia, dijo que recuperar el equipo no sería un robo, sino una manera de vincular a las personas con el legado del trasatlántico y honrar a sus pasajeros.

La jueza federal Rebecca Beach Smith – la jurista marítima que preside los asuntos de recuperación de piezas del Titanic dijo – que era muy pronto para que emita alguna decisión. Señaló que necesitaba más detalles y propuso fijar otra audiencia para una futura fecha.

El Titanic, la embarcación que era imposible hundir, viajaba de Inglaterra a Nueva York cuando colisionó con un iceberg a las 11:40 PM del 14 de abril de 1912. El enorme transatlántico de lujo transmitió mensajes de auxilio con el relativamente nuevo sistema inalámbrico de radio de Marconi. Los mensajes fueron captados por otros barcos y estaciones receptoras en tierra. Algunos decían: “Solicitamos asistencia inmediata”… “Chocamos con un témpano de hielo y nos hundimos”… “Estamos poniendo a las mujeres en los botes“.

El barco se hundió en menos de tres horas, y de las 2,208 personas a bordo, sólo sobrevivieron unos 700. Un equipo internacional encabezado por el oceanógrafo Robert Ballard ubicó los restos en el año 1985 en el lecho marino del Atlántico norte, a unos 645 kilómetros (400 millas) de Terranova, Canadá.

RMS Titanic Inc. alega que se acaba el tiempo para recuperar la estación de radio diseñada por Marconi. El aparato es descrito como “la voz” del Titanic que envió las últimas palabras del trasatlántico. El equipo se ubica en un compartimento de la cubierta de la nave. Un gimnasio ubicado al otro lado de la escalinata se ha derrumbado. El sobre techo donde se encuentra la estación telegráfica ha comenzado a perforarse. El recuperar esa “RELIQUIA HISTÓRICA” está en manos de la jueza federal Rebecca Beach Smith. ¡Veremos!

CONCEPTOS PRINCIPALES ------La propagacion es el fenomeno provocado por la ionosfera, la cual permite la recepcion de señales, gracias a la refraccion que esta produce. La ionosfera esta formada por varias capas, llamadas D, E, F1 y F2. La capa E esta situada a 96 kilometros de altura, y es la que envia la mayoria de las señales de onda corta. Las capas F1 y F2 estan localizadas a mucha mas altura, 160 y 320 kilometros respectivamente, y trabaja mejor en las frecuencias superiores de la region de onda corta. La capa D es la mas cercana a la tierra, situada cerca de 80 kilometros de altura. En lugar de reflejar señales detras de la tierra sobre el horizonte, la capa D trabaja contra nosotros absorbiendo señales de radio en el borde inferior de bandas de onda corta de modo que estas llegan demasiado debiles a alcanzar la capa E. Pero la capa D desaparece rapidamente de noche, de modo que las mas bajas frecuencias sobreviven mas rapidamente durante las horas de la noche, y de esta forma actua la capa E. Si la frecuencia es demasiado alta, la onda no se refracta para volver a la tierra suficientemente. Se llama frecuencia maxima utilizable MUF a aquella en la que es factible su propagacion entre dos puntos de la tierra. Sin embargo, debido a la gran variabilidad que existe en la densidad del electron de la region de F2, las MUFs no son limites absolutos, y pueden darse excepciones al calculo. Las señales que lleguen a la capa F2 deben atravesar la region de la capa E de la ionosfera. La capa E tambien es capaz de "reflejar" las señales de HF, y si el MUF de la capa E es demasiado alto, las señales que quieran alcanzar la capa F son bloqueadas por la capa E. Este fenomeno es llamado ECOF; es decir las frecuencias por debajo del ECOF no atravesaran la capa E. Las señales pueden propagarse entre dos puntos de la tierra via capa E de la misma manera que cuando lo hacen via capa F2, pero la distancia de tierra maxima del salto de la capa E es solo aproximadamente de 2000 Km.

PARAMETROS DE MEDICION ------La propagacion se mide con diversos procedimientos y parametros (unidades) de los que podemos mencionar:

FLUJO SOLAR: se refiere a la cantidad de manchas (llamaradas) solares emitidas por el Sol en la banda de 10.7 cm (2800 Mhz) y se relaciona estrechamente a la cantidad de radiacion ultravioleta que se necesita para crear un nivel adecuado para la ionosfera (responsable de la refraccion de las ondas de radio), tomado en SSN (Sunspot Number) y Flux como unidades.

INDICES A y K: se refiere a los indices de actividad geomagneticas por ejemplo tormentas solares que influyen negativamente en la propagacion de las ondas de radio.

Indices (K: mayores de 5) o (A: mayores de 20) indican condiciones de tormenta solares con un campo de actividad geomagnetica activo por lo que no es bueno para la escucha. Cuanto mas activo es mas inestable la propagacion con posibles periodos de propagacion cerrada por lo que lo mejor que podemos hacer es apagar el receptor.

Por consiguiente un alto Indice A, es indicativo de mas ruido y absorcion donde las altas frecuencias son afectadas primero y luego las bandas bajas. Un indice A menor que 7 es bueno, en terminos de condiciones promedio. Los indices K son leidos en intervalos de 3 horas, indicando la actividad actual.

Aurora: este nivel es actualizado cada dia con el paso del satelite polar NOAA-12 POES de donde se extraen los valores. Se refiere a los dx´s en niveles polares.

En sintesis:

Altos Indices A y K : condiciones negativas para la escucha.

Niveles de Aurora indican condiciones polares (muy buena para VHF y buena para HF si el valor es bajo.

** AUSTRIA. 6155, April 8 at 0549, classical music at S9/+10, better signal than usual, but noisy, in the last remnant of SW programming from this country, the token relay of Ö1 scheduled with 300 kW ND at 0500-0620 except Sat/Sun to 0610. Remember when the end of this used to include a few minutes of news in English? Not any more.

But I go looking for the website (not included on Hitlist --- Alan?) and finally find this for today at 7:33-7:52 am local time: https://radiothek.orf.at/oe1/20200408/600688 Audio and playlist of this `Guten Morgen Österreich` segment starting with Brahms. The transmission is on the news network but includes bits of classical music apparently promoting what will be played in full later (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CHINA. 7810, April 7 at 2222, JBA talk vs S5-S6 noise level. Unusual to hear anything here, but yes, it`s one of a multitude of Sound of Hope frequencies; Aoki/NDXC shows 24 hours including the single hour in Cantonese at 15-16, 1 kW via Miaoli, Taiwan site and of course *jammed, surely what I am hearing instead, CNR1.

Looking for any other E Asian signals on 7 MHz band, finds JBA talk on 7395, which could be CNR2 via Xianyang 594 site or CRI Chinese via Urumqi, EAST TURKISTAN, land of imprisoning and brainwashing Uyghurs.

This segment is normally in the middle of each English hour, like :25-:35 as in DX/SWL/MEDIA programs. RHC clox must be way off. Was English axually running on these frequencies from a semihour earlier? At 23-24 it would normally be on 5040 & 11880. Did not get around to checking whether subsequent repeats were also askew, at 01-07. Following DXUL, report from Puerto Rico on the COVID 19 situation there. 6185, April 8 at 1725, I myself tune the Brownsville SDR, courtesy of TWR, and find a fairly good and well-modulated signal in Spanish, interview about economy, water supply in Mexicali, class warfare, 1730 song break, slightly off-frequency-minus as usual; which has to be XEPPM during its secret daytime broadcast; why can`t they do so well at night? ** OKLAHOMA. Convoluted tropo blobs over OK forecast by Bill Hepburn, so I bandscan from 1513 UT April 8: Lots of BAD signals on open channels including RF 45, no doubt KOTV Tulsa, but only two are decoding, from Tulsa market:

RF 28, 44-1 Ion RF 20, 19-1 KQCW-HD during Dr Oz show. This one in solid until finally starts to break up and lose out at 1705 UT. And BTW has *no* subchannels, unusual waste of spectrum but assures its only program can be as HD as possible (GLenn Hauser, Enid, WOR)

** TURKEY. 9830, April 7 at 2211, VP signal from VOT, JBA talk, unusable but at least is on today. Alan Roe reported to WOR iogroup:

** ANGUILLA. 11775 nor 6090, April 5, it`s dawning on me that the so-called Caribbean Beacon has not been heard for a while, a week or more. Easy to miss due to convoluted ``schedule``. Mark Coady on the ODXA iog April 5:

``A fellow ham radio operator from Peterborough, Ontario, winters for over a month or two with his wife on the island of Anguilla. They recently had their first cases of the COVID-19 virus on the island, apparently brought in by recent tourists from the US and his return flight has been cancelled.

On top of not knowing when he can come home, he noted that he hasn't heard the Caribbean Beacon on 1610 lately and I haven't heard them on shortwave either. Pastor Melissa Scott is still on WWCR but I wonder if the Caribbean Beacon is another COVID-19 casualty for now. Has anyone been hearing them on 6090 or 11775 lately?`` 1610 has been off for a long time (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** ANTARCTICA. 15475.97-CUSB, April 7 at 1420 tune-in past 1435+, JBA carrier direct over the almost all-water path from Esperanza to Enid, as I have not been able to detect for some time amid several special LRA-36 transmissions; it`s about equivalent to 15825 WWCR normal signal now without any sporadic-E boost.

Looking for any other E Asian signals on 7 MHz band, finds JBA talk on 7395, which could be CNR2 via Xianyang 594 site or CRI Chinese via Urumqi, EAST TURKISTAN, land of imprisoning and brainwashing Uyghurs.

What anyone gets on 711 is a factor of time, location, propagation, and antenna. I have not done precision frequency measurement on either of the 711 signals recently though I suspect that Mauno will have all the info here soon. Morocco (W. This week it`s almost all Arnie talking about several subjects, lickety-split pace tripping over his tongue and hard for me to follow, while I can normally comprehend proper ``broadcast Spanish``.

Well-worn subject of his fascination with TTFD antennas resurges: they are low-noise and good for T-E DX. Gives azimuths for English to N America frequencies, 325 degrees on 6145, and couldn`t catch that for 6000. If so, 6145 should be heard a lot better here in the boresight. Thought the YL announcer closing sounded like Marta Rios, but she gives totally different strange name. 1348 finishes already, on to `En Compañía del Doctor`, not topic-V but heart disease.

BTW, on the positive side, the current `Nova` on PBS is about a possible immunotherapy cancer cure developed by Cuba; Americans illegally go there for treatment (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

Closing credits uttered by the one who speaks, sounds like Yalina Cascaret, but no certainty about either spelling, instead of Marta Rios. This via Alexandria SDR, arriving somewhat distorted. As for the azimuths, no RHC at all in boycotted HFCC; EiBi doesn`t deal with them at all; so that leaves Aoki/NDXC, FWIW. A-20 admits RHC info is still from B-19: 6000, 10 degrees from Quivicán; 6165, 340 degrees from Bauta. Yes, ``6165`` as NDXC never caught up with that change to 6145 months ago (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

Note that by my WWV timing there have been delays of 8-10 seconds from epicenter 14-15 km away, to hitting here. About 1 second margin of error. That`s equivalent to 1 mile per second, or 3600 mph.

Furthermore, our quaxe are the only ones on the recent map anywhere in central or eastern USA! OK had been relatively quiet with crackdowns on fracking. No RF effects noted, but by prerogative I include local EQ reports with my logs (Glenn Hauser, Enid OK, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. 255-MCW kHz, April 4 at 0549 UT, no signal from SW, the 25-watt NDB at nearby Stillwater, which had been one of our most constantly reliable, day and night by groundwave. 341 kHz, EI, Enid also remains gone. Ditto at midday 1800 UT; only ones audible are 350 RG OKC, which is sometimes missing; and much stronger 515 PN Ponca City which is never missing but sometimes chripy (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA [and non]. Doug Smith of W9WI.com replied March 30 on the WTFDA Forum to my recent TVDX logs: 03-30-2020, 07:11 AM

``KSBI’s permanent antenna is at the same height as KWTV’s auxiliary antenna. (I suspect it’s the same antenna) Because of their repack to a significantly lower channel – 23 vs. 51 – they would have faced a substantial power reduction. The FCC regards less power necessary to achieve the same coverage on a lower channel. It appears KSBI chose to take a height reduction instead. The channel 23 antenna is 331m above average terrain; the channel 51 unit was 458m. Best I can tell this change is permanent.

I would imagine the higher power yields a more interference-immune signal for viewers in the immediate metropolitan OKC area, at the expense of those of you a bit further away.

KOTV repacks in Phase 10. This begins May 2nd and runs through July 3rd. The coronavirus emergency has delayed some Phase 8 and 9 moves. That’s likely to push back Phase 10, even if the virus is gone by May.

KPXJ is on the KTBS tower (on “KTBS Road”…) just east of Mooringsport, LA. {Mooringsport is NW of Shreveport near the TX border, about halfway to Vivian - Enid distance 340 miles = 547 km}

Regarding Escape on KDCU 31.3, this network somewhat unexpectedly changed its name to Court TV Mystery early this year. Both this channel and “regular” Court TV originate from the same firm.

KQCW is moving to a shared tower east of Tulsa. It’s currently home to KJRH-2, KOTV-6, KOED-11, and co-owned FM stations KWTU-88.7 & KWGS-89.5.

RF 28, 44-1 Ion RF 20, 19-1 KQCW-HD during Dr Oz show. This one in solid until finally starts to break up and lose out at 1705 UT. And BTW has *no* subchannels, unusual waste of spectrum but assures its only program can be as HD as possible (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR)

** ROMANIA. 6100, April 6 at 0059, RRI is S9+20 on NF in Romanian to North America at 00-02; 0100 a bit of classical music but into discussion of Estonian-Romanian relations; found // 7420 at 0112. This bihour should also include a good variety of music from domestic service (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SAIPAN [and non]. 11985.037, April 4 at 1531, JBA talk in Korean, off frequency, immediately suggesting it`s USAGM Saipan, one of its most off-capable sites, along with São Tomé. HFCC confirms Saipan, A-20 now running 1500-1900.

9910.036, April 4 at 1537, another off-frequency Korean, bet it`s the same. Not in HFCC of March 30 but yes in Aoki/NDXC April 4 as another RFA Korean from Agignan Point MRA = SAIPAN at 1500-1700.

Altho transmitters might drift, you`d think there would be a simple vernier ``fine tuning`` to adjust frequencies, if anyone cared. Something`s always shifty at Saipan. One more:

11675, April 4 at 1534, Chinese with fast SAH from second transmitter. Yep, Aoki has this as RFA SAIPAN, this hour only, *jammed by CNR1; and we certainly know which one is askew without trying to separate them. Almost all ``open`` DX channels have a BAD signal on them, in the repack range 7-37, plus 45, no doubt still KOTV Tulsa; except nothing on 34 and 9; and two `local` OKC channels are BAD, caused by DX QRM, 7 and 15. 15 would most likely be KSNW Wichita, ex-45. 7: full-powers still exist in Hays and Pittsburg KS; Amarillo, Austin, Odessa, Tyler TX plus numerous low-powers; nothing in OK except KOCO.

I sit on RF 32 which shows signs of reaching decode threshold, and it does briefly at 1620, with a CW 33 bug in LR, and PSIP as 33-1 KDAF-DT --- that`s 780 kW in Dallas TX; gone before I can check out its subchannels.

RF 26, April 7 at 1625, this one decodes as 24-1 FOX, which isn`t very helpful, but must be 350 kW from the opposite direxion, KSAS-TV Wichita; subs are 24-2 TBD and 24-3 Comet; contrary to W9WI.com which has 24-2 as GetTV. UNIDENTIFIED. Trans-Atlantic JBA MW carrier search April 3 at 0536 for the next few minutes; method: 100-foot E-W longwire into R-75 set at 9-kHz steps, tuning USB 1 kHz below each frequency to detect 1 kHz het, however weak. Preamps off to minimize overload on MW.

531, 549, 558(2), 603, 612, 621, 657*, 684+, 693(2), 711*, 729, 747, 774(2), 837, 882, 891**, 909, 936(2), 1026, 1044, 1098, 1107, 1116, 1125(2), 1134, 1152, 1179, 1215, 1296, 1305(2), 1314, 1422, 1476, 1503, 1539, 1566, 1575.

*657 is unusual, probably Spain or Italy, usually blocked by WSCR IBOC; a bit of auroral weakening it, or off? As 710.0 unusually dominated by the on-frequency Rebelde, and yes still with that carrier on 711 which is not TA; no beat on it detected this time. **891 strongest of all, no doubt Algeria. (2)=at least two carriers beating a few Hz apart (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

Re my remark about getting TA carrier on 657 instead of IBOC noise from WSCR Chicago, Tom Jasinski, Joliet replies April 4: ``Glenn: The IBOC for WSCR 670 and WBBM 780 has been off for over a month now. UNIDENTIFIED. 5000-5004, April 2 at 2354, the rapid RTTY QRM to WWV is still here 24 hours later. It was being widely heard last night in the WOR iog, including:

`` I’m hearing it here in upstate NY too at 0212 UTC. I doubt this is coming from WWV - it appears to be on the high side of 5 MHz. It almost buries WWV here in the East. Listening to a Kiwi in Kansas City, the noise is audible, but WWV is louder. Even on the Kiwi in Ft Collins itself, I can hear it in the background, but WWV is of course loud and clear. Wow. Thanks for the replies. I just turned on my Icom 756 transceiver at 1630 UT on Thursday, and I am hearing it loud. And that is 1230 pm EDT. I tried listening on my Cushcraft MA5B beam to see if there is any difference in signal level. It is mostly consistent with an S3 to S7 in most directions. At 300 degrees it was peaking from S4 to S9. I would suspect that under normal conditions propagation on 5 MHz would be about 500 to 700 miles from my location near Pittsburgh. UNIDENTIFIED. 5000+, by April 3, the FSK/RTTY QRM on the high side of WWV, has gone away. Meanwhile, further discussion of it, first from the MARE Tipsheet:

``Jamie Tolbert: I wonder if that’s the new stock exchange type communications system that was on the 20m ham band last year; has to do with the Chicago stock exchange. They didn’t seem to care they were on 20m last year until someone told them about it.``

``Charles Gessner: I have been hearing it most of today. I started at 1630 UT-it was strong at my home in W.Pa. I then tried again at 0030 UT. It is still very strong. As said before someone has done a TDOA direction finding study using online SDRs and determined that it was on an azimuth northwards towards Chicago from Indiana. It is continuous, that`s for sure. Oh well.``

And then on the WOR io group: ``Hmm. I just turned on my receiver here at 1425 UTC on Friday April 3rd, It appears that those FSK signals have disappeared. Strange how that happened. ``Apparently now solved but here’s a theory - Some years ago when I was selling HF radios for commercial and government applications. We had a customer that programmed one of their preset channels to exactly 10 MHz for receiving WWV for frequency calibration purposes. One day there was a microprocessor glitch and the unit came up on on exactly 10 MHz and was key-down at 100W for several days. In those days the FCC was a lot more active and tracked it down to the embarrassed organization! Anyway, my theory is that something like that could have happened here, this time to WWV on 5 MHz. 18137-USB, April 5 at 2146, ham in Italian but probably not Italy; pileup replies, one in Spanish; handles are Giovanni and Nando. Soon they finish with 73s and NO IDs.

I am logging these merely to note that the 18 MHz band is open at least NorthAmerically, by HF sporadic E; but not the 21 MHz band.

Lower band nearby broadcasters are however also getting Es boosts far beyond their normal JBA levels: 15610 WEWN S9+25; 15555-U WJHR even S9+10; 15825 WWCR squealing S9+25; 15770 WRMI S9+25; 13845 WWCR S9+35 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
