In the beginning there was black. At Interieur 2006, the leading biennial design event in Belgium, TAL laboratories added a touch of gold to a deep black lighting element called DART. The wall-mounted luminaire radiated with an inner golden glow and immersed every interior in a classy and stylish visual splendor. TAL-adepts started making suggestions to transform other lighting fixtures into the blackest gold ever seen. And so, TAL laboratories carried out more experiments resulting in a never before seen collection of lighting elements designed to bathe your interior in a warm and intimate glow.

For exactly eleven years now, TAL has maintained its Black+Gold collection and with each new product, a version in black and gold was developed. The black housing of the products contrasts beautifully to their warm, golden interior. At Euroluce 2017, the international lighting exhibition in Milan, TAL will once again proudly present this trendsetting Black+Gold collection. This time, it will be alternated with lighting fixtures that completely bathe in gold. For example, a version of the BERRIER in 24-carat gold will be presented. TAL’s newest addition to the Black+Gold collection will be the DIABOLO, designed by Lieven Musschoot & Cas Moor.

Throughout the range, you will discover attractive fixtures reminiscent of thirties style, of jazz clubs and of royal interiors. With its unique character, the Black+Gold series offers that extra added aesthetic value to both classical and contemporary interiors. As already suggested by its name, Kalebas, designed by Lieven Musschoot & Cas Moor, has the organic shape of a calabash.

This suspended luminaire is part of the DALSGAARD collection; the upper part is made of undulating black oak wood, the lamp housing is executed in magnificent gold. KALEBAS is the ideal lighting fixture for housing LED-lamps with an E27 base as only the light-emitting part is visible and the technical components of the lamp remain hidden behind the housing.

The Snake series are developed by Bruno Erpicum and consist of a single meandering tube, nothing more, nothing less.

Free-standing lighting elements traditionally consist of a lamp, lamp post, foot piece and cable. Bruno Erpicum reduced all those elements to one single smooth line whereby simplicity is key. The meandering tube indeed takes care of all aspects a lightning fixture requires, stability, aesthetic elegance and of course the pure function of ... light.

The Diabolo is an elegant wall fixture with a simple yet diabolic shape.

The DIABOLO Gold is plated with 24K gold, which accentuates its nice round shapes. The applications are endless from indoor atmospheric lighting, orientation lighting and nightlight. The DIABOLO is also the ideal product for hotel projects, cinemas, etc... and with, for example, a room number, it doubles as an illuminated sign. The DIABOLO fits on a standard round wall box so installing the fixture is a piece of cake.

Golden indirect ambient light.

Thanks to the golden asymmetrical reflector, the EOS is the ideal fixture to bring a golden glow into the interior. The EOS can be installed in the wall just above eye level in order to wall wash the ceiling, providing indirect ambient light with a golden glow. When installed at a lower height, the EOS can be used as orientation light or to illuminate circulation paths.

Subtle intervention

FLOX & MIND the GAP are subtle wall- recessed luminaires creating a harmonious and elegant connection with the surrounding space. MIND the GAP is a slim light-emitting recess whereas FLOX is the somewhat wider variant. Both lighting fixtures cast a soft and discreet light beam. The combination of black with a golden inner surface creates an extra warm effect.
