Proud sponsor of the New England Dressage Association b oARD member spotlight Kat Wojtylak Public Relations Coordinator and Advertising I have been fortunate to have spent most of my life in the horse industry and working for top professionals and companies in the industry including the Gary Lewis Training Stable, Winbak Farms, Hilltop Farm, Darren Chiacchia, Dr. John R. Steele, Preferred Equine, Cutler Farm just to name a few. I also went to the State University of New York at Morrisville and graduated with a Bachelors degree in Equine Science and Management with an emphasis on Race Horse Management. Right now my full time job lands me as Product Kat Wojtylak Manager for the Massachusetts based company, Draper Therapies. Encompassed within that title is the person you’ll speak to on the phone when placing an order, the person who ships out all orders, the person who sets up wholesale accounts to get the Draper products into a store near you, the person who travels to all the shows to meet Full-Heart-bc-ad 2/18/12 12:01 PM Page 1 everyone and the person who steals all your chocolate when you’re not looking. When free time presents itself, you’ll find me cooking and baking up a storm, visiting Wegmans, playing YOU TAKE SUCH GOOD bass guitar, going to concerts, finding something new to do in or around Boston, or just spending time with my family (extended CARE OF YOUR HORSE... Now let us take care of you!!! or otherwise). Because of the relationship I established with Draper Therapies and NEDA through sponsorship, I became engrossed in everything this organization had to offer. It was insanely rewarding to watch the volunteers working their butts Full Heart Acupuncture off to produce some absolutely fantastic events, all in support photo by Ben Barnhart of their membership and furthering development in dressage Abby Greiner, MAOM, Lic.Ac. on a much larger scale. When the opportunity presented itself Framingham, MA | 508-341-3481 | www.fullheartacupuncture.com to become a part of the Board, I jumped at the opportunity. I saw a group of passionate people who took everything to heart, in a good way. I took on the position of Advertising which encompassed much of the Marketing plans and ideas the committees had in furthering NEDA’s outreach. Whether it’s promoting events, laying out new ideas, keeping track of social media or growing membership, it fits right into what I’m doing. I look forward to bringing anything I can to the heart of NEDA and its members, to help them on their forward movement to ensure future generations have the same if not better opportunities ahead. Words to live by. “Embrace this moment.” – Spencer Bell

28 A Tip of the HaT | NEDA.ORG September 2012 news bits NEDA Education Outreach The NEDA Education Outreach program has been developed by the Education Committee in an effort to address the membership’s request for more clinics, including riding and auditing opportunities for dressage enthusiasts of all levels. Since it is nearly impossible for NEDA to organize clinics that would be equally accessible to its almost 2,000 members across 7 states, NEDA has implemented the Education Outreach Program to fill that gap. At present, the Outreach program offers Tier I - Advertising assistance to any NEDA member organizing a clinic (non-profit groups are exempt from required membership). Advertising opportunities will be given to help promote your event in exchange for auditing (and sometimes riding) discounts for NEDA members at the clinic. Tier II has just been added. It offers grants to help clinics cover their costs and/or try something new. Plans for one more tier organizing partnerships with NEDA is being considered and details will be available soon.
