Scotland Total Visitor Numbers Usable data was received from 173 sites. The total number of visits recorded in January 2016 was 1,038,707; this compares to 1,008,890 in 2015 and indicates an increase of 3.0%. There was 51% of respondents, that noted an increase. Although Scotland was colder than the rest of the UK, the average temperature was still almost 1⁰C above the average. Ironically both the lowest and highest temperatures in the UK were recorded in Scotland - (-12.4⁰C )in Kinbrace on the 19th and 16.5⁰C on Per Attraction Category the 24th at Achnagart. Eastern Scotland achieved more than twice the average rainfall for the month. Total sunshine average was just 27 hours for the month which is considerably lower than the average and Storm Gertrude lashed Heritage/historic Northern Scotland on the 28-29th with wind speeds of well over 100mph across mountain summits. property/stately 161,402 -0.5% q
