Preeceville School has had some staff changes for the 2018 2019 school year. We welcome Miss Kelly Dierker who is teaching Kindergarten as well as middle years Arts Ed. and grade 7 Science. Mrs. Allyson Hull is also a new face on staff this year and is teaching grade 8 & 9 Science, ELA 20 along with SST and some LLI groups. Due to Ms Morton’s maternity leave, Miss Kaylyn Kowch will be teaching grade 6 for this school year. Returning staff include Mr. Kipp Bayer who taught on staff many years ago and has returned to be our Vice-Principal and is teaching elementary Phys. Ed as well as CWEX 10. We also welcome back Mrs. Toni Lario who was on maternity leave last year. Mrs. Dallas Burym, who was teaching grade 2 last year for Mrs. Lario, has moved into grade 1 on a permanent contract. Congratulations! There were also some staff shuffles this year. Mrs. Alicia Longman is our new Student Services Teacher (SST) and Miss Ally Rock has taken the grade 3 class that became available after Mrs. Klebeck retired. It’s a Girl!!! Congratulations! A big congratulations goes The June newsletter out to Ms. Meghan Morton stated that Miss Allyson and Mr. Tyler Blender on Gryacheski will be teaching the safe arrival of their some middle years courses little bundle of joy this past as well as some SST this summer! At the conference, the girls took part in many activities along with sitting in on three guest speakers, Katie Bergman, Jon Montgomery, and Jess Moskaluke. They can’t wait to share their ideas with the school!

The weatherSRC may not haveBack fully cooperated to for the School back to school bar-b-que Bar-b-que on Friday, September 14th, but students, staff, and members of the public took time out to enjoy the hamburgers and a pop that the SRC organized for everyone. Thank you to the SRC and staff advisors for their hard work in organizing, providing, as well as cleaning afterwards. It was a great kick-off to start the school year!

Elementary Fun Afternoon The SRC also provided the elementary students with a fun afternoon following the bar-b-que. The first part of the afternoon the K-3 students participated in various activities in the gymnasium, with the grade 4 to 6 students playing games for the last part of the afternoon. Again, thank you to the SRC and staff advisors for organizing this fun activity for the elementary students. Sr. Girls Volleyball SERVE HARD ~ DIG FIERCE ~ SPIKE HARD Our new Panthers volleyball team, comprised of Preeceville and Invermay players, competed in their first tournament on September 7/8 and gave us a glimpse of what promises to be a great season ahead. The team had a strong showing throughout the weekend and in the end, came home with gold. Congratulations, girls!

How to Help Your Child Learn to Say His or Her Speech Sounds (Whether they are in Speech Therapy or Not!) - Say Less: Pick 5 words for practice and place pictures of them or the printed words in a common area so your child can see them and say them to you daily - Stress: Emphasize target sounds - Louder, Longer, Repeated (This works great for words containing “r” or “sh” or any sound that your child might still be learning). - Go Slow: Speak slower and insert more pauses between practice words - Show: Use a mirror and show your child what you do with your lips, tongue or jaw to say the sound. Talk about your jaw and teeth being together or open and if you can see your tongue or teeth at all. SCAVENGER HUNT: READ WITH ME: WORD OF THE DAY: Go for a walk outside or in your home.
