4-cylinder, O-360 (opposed, 360 cubic inch) engine rated at 180 horsepower at 2700 RPM. The engine is direct drive (crankshaft connected directly to the propeller), horizontally opposed (pistons oppose each other), piston driven, carbureted and normally aspirated (no turbo or supercharging). Engine ignition is provided through the use of two engine- driven magnetos, which are independent of the aircraft's electrical system and each other. Each magneto powers one spark plug per cylinder (for redundancy and more complete combustion), for a total of 8 spark plugs. L Lycoming H Horizontally Opposed A Air Cooled N Normally Aspirated D Direct Drive Carburetor Icing Under certain atmospheric conditions at temperatures of 20° to 70° F (-5° to 20° C), it is possible for ice to form in the induction system, even in summer weather. This is due to the high air velocity through the carburetor venturi and the absorption of heat from this air by vaporization of the fuel. To avoid this, carburetor heat is provided to replace the heat lost by vaporization. The initial signs of carburetor ice can include engine roughness and a drop in RPM. Carburetor heat should be selected on full if carburetor ice is encountered. Adjust mixture for maximum smoothness. Partial carburetor heat may be worse than no heat at all, since it may melt part of the ice, which will refreeze in the intake system. Therefore when using carburetor heat, always use full heat and when the ice is removed, return the control to the full cold position. Aircraft Systems • 1 From the Archer POH, in regards to carburetor heat usage during approach: "Carburetor heat should not be applied unless there is an indication of carburetor icing, since the use of carburetor heat causes a reduction in power which may be critical in case of a go-around. Full throttle operation with carburetor heat on can cause detonation." Oil Acceptable range for oil in the Archer is 6.5–8 quarts. Never depart with the oil indicating below 6 quarts. ATP policy states any time a full quart of oil can be added to the Archer oil system, a full quart should be added. Never add less than a full quart; oil must only be added from full, unopened containers, and any oil not poured into the engine must be discarded. Students are not permitted to add oil in ATP aircraft without their instructor verifying the oil level and verbally agreeing to the amount to be added. Propeller The Archer is equipped with a Sensenich two-bladed, fixed-pitch, metal propeller. Propeller diameter is 76 inches. Maximum RPM (red line) is 2700 RPM. Landing Gear The landing gear is a fixed, tricycle-type gear, with oleo (air/oil) struts providing shock absorption for all three wheels. The nose wheel contains a shimmy dampener, which damps nose wheel vibrations during ground operations and centers the nose wheel in the air. The nose wheel is linked to the rudder pedals by a steering mechanism which turns the nosewheel up to 20° each side of center. Brakes The Archer is equipped with hydraulically-actuated disc brakes on the main landing gear

  • The Legacy of INTERPOL Crime Data to Cross-National Criminology1
INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF COMPARATIVE AND APPLIED CRIMINAL JUSTICE FALL 2009, VOL. 33, NO. 2 The Legacy of INTERPOL Crime Data to Cross-National Criminology1 ROSEMARY BARBERET2 John Jay College of Criminal Justice, CUNY INTERPOL crime data constitute the oldest and most continuous cross-national data series available to criminologists. Recently, INTERPOL has decided to forego its data collection efforts. This paper, based on a systematic and extensive literature review, will examine how criminologists and other social scientists have used INTERPOL data to examine criti- cal issues in the description and explanation of cross-national crime. It will end with a critical reflection on the contribution of INTERPOL data to our knowledge base, as well as the possibilities that exist for using other data sources to continue research in this area. INTRODUCTION Crime data from INTERPOL are the oldest dataset of cross-national indica- tors of crime maintained by an intergovernmental organization. Thanks to these data, criminologists have created a literature that aims to explain national as well as cross-national differences and trends in crime rates. Created in 1923, the International Criminal Police Commission (ICPC, later abbreviated to ICPC-INTERPOL and now known as INTERPOL) was founded to facilitate police cooperation among countries, even where diplomatic ties do not exist. INTERPOL's International Crime Statistics were first published in 1950. In 2006, INTERPOL decided to cease collecting and disseminating crime data, and 2005 was the last

ISIS agent, Sterling Archer, launches his Pirate King Theme FX Cartoon Series Archer Gets Its First Hip Hop Video courtesy of Brooklyn duo, Drop it Steady Fans of the FX cartoon series Archer do not need to be told of its genius. The show was created by many of the same writers who brought you the Fox series Arrested Development. Similar to its predecessor, Archer has built up a strong and loyal fanbase. As with most popular cartoons nowadays, hip-hop artists tend to flock to the animated world and Archer now has it's hip-hop spin off. Brooklyn-based music duo, Drop It Steady, created a fun little song and video sampling the show. The duo drew their inspiration from a series sub plot wherein Archer became a "pirate king" after his fiancée was murdered on their wedding day in front of him. For Archer fans, the song and video will definitely touch a nerve as Drop it Steady turns the story of being a pirate king into a forum for discussing recent break ups. Others say the organizers of Occupy Wall Street were listening to their demo when they began to discuss their movement. Though it has yet to be verified, word that the first two tracks off of their upcoming EP, The Most Interesting EP In The World, were recorded at the ceremony for Prince William and Katie Middleton and are spreading through the internets like wild fire.

ARCHER A thesis submitted to the Graduate SchoolNew Brunswick Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey in partial fulfillment of the requirements For the degree of Master of Arts Graduate Program in Art History written under the direction of Cynthia Jacob, J.D., Ph.D. and approved by ________________________________ ________________________________ ________________________________ New Brunswick, New Jersey [May 2016] ABSTRACT OF THE THESIS THE CARE OF ART AND ARTIFACTS SUBJECTED TO THE LAW ENFORCEMENT PROCESS By JACOB B. ARCHER Thesis Director Cynthia Jacob, J.D., Ph.D. This thesis is intended to serve as a guide for law enforcement officers on how to care for art and artifacts subjected to the law enforcement process. Law enforcement officers may encounter art and artifacts in various ways, such as through seizure, unexpected finds, and planned recovery operations. Law enforcement officers have a duty to properly care for property, to include cultural property objects such as art and artifacts, while in their custody and control, but art and artifacts often require care beyond the routine handling generally afforded to common property items. This thesis will offer suggestions for the law enforcement officer on how to recognize art and artifacts in the field and how to subsequently handle and care for same. These suggestions are meant to be integrated into existing law enforcement policies and procedures so as to realistically account for the time, skill, and financial resources associated with law enforcement officers and their respective agencies, all the while maintaining adherence to generally accepted evidence collection practices.

  • Protect Chicago Plus Frequently Asked Questions February 12, 2021
Protect Chicago Plus Frequently Asked Questions February 12, 2021 Equity drives all vaccine distribution in the City of Chicago. As we strive to vaccinate the entire city while faced with a limited supply of vaccine, our commitment to equity is more important than ever. Equity is not only part of our COVID-19 strategy, equity is our strategy. • The City has worked to enroll doctor's offices, hospitals, clinics, and FQHCs as vaccination sites in our hardest hit communities. We also provide additional support and outreach to healthcare providers in these communities to help them increase capacity to provide vaccination for the community. • We deploy vaccination strike teams prioritizing critical populations in these areas (e.g. seniors, congregate living settings, employers that have high outbreak rates). • Additionally, we launched the Protect Chicago Plus program and will dedicate vaccine supply and additional resources to the 15 neighborhoods that have been most burdened by the COVID-19 pandemic based on the City’s COVID vulnerability index (CCVI), to get these communities at or above the Citywide vaccination rate. What is Protect Chicago Plus? Protect Chicago Plus is a targeted vaccine distribution program designed to ensure vaccine reaches the individuals and communities most impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. It relies on three primary strategies: 1. Dedicate vaccine supply and additional resources to the 15 neighborhoods that have been most burdened by the COVID-19 pandemic based on the City’s COVID vulnerability index (CCVI), to get these communities at or above the Citywide vaccination rate. 2. Partner with local community stakeholders to develop tailored vaccination and engagement strategies to help community residents get vaccinated.

  • Safety Regulations for Outdoor Archery Throughout the COVID-19 Pandemic
Safety regulations for outdoor archery throughout the COVID-19 pandemic These recommendations have been issued by the World Archery Medical and Sport Sciences Committee on request of the World Archery Executive Board in order to assist national federations. The implementation will depend on the actual situation in the country concerned. World Archery encourages each national federation to publish their own recommendations taking into consideration this document and national/regional regulations. Committee members who contributed in the creation of this document: Dr Martin Bauer (chairperson), Dr Carlos Hermes (deputy chairperson), Dr Anne Smith, Dr Fiametta Scarzella, Dr Meriem Hamrouche. Current situation We are all going through an unprecedented time in which we have a life-threatening pandemic due to a new virus for which there is no proven treatment or vaccine as yet. Nor do we know how long the virus will be a serious health problem, so we must take steps to keep archery safe. In regards to the global COVID-19 crisis it is necessary to institute safety regulations to protect archers, and the archery family whether training, competing or just shooting arrows recreationally. Recognising that there will be national and local government as well as public health regulations which may differ from country to country and from place to place, which must be respected, the World Archery Medical and Sports Science Committee has established safety regulations to provide effective protection of the health and safety of the archery family which is a priority. Recommendation and safety regulations for outdoor archery throughout the COVID-19 pandemic v1.0 / 8.05.2020 Need for protective measures COVID-19 is mostly spread person to person through large respiratory droplets when a person breathes, speaks, coughs or sneezes.

  • Doyle-Archer House, 321 W. Doyle
Historic Landmark #30 Doyle-Archer House 321 W. Doyle Street Historic Landmark #30 Doyle-Archer House The Doyle-Archer House was built in 1911. It is an Arts and Crafts Style or Craftsman Style cottage. The Craftsman style was very popular in the early 20th Century and this is a unique example because of the lower roof line and bay windows. It embodies the distinctive characteristics of a type, period, or method of construction. The stone columns were added to the front porch in about the year 2000; the two story addition off of S. Thrash Street was added in September 2002. Another addition was added to the east side of the house before the stone columns were added. As stated in the 2001 Survey for Granbury none of these changes that took place before 2001-2002 have taken away from the high priority status as an important historic property. The floor plans were first published in 1909 in the Ladies Home Journal and were touted as the “Home Plans of the Future”. The cost to build this house was estimated to be $2300. Some of the distinguishable features include; the bay window on the west side, the north elevation porch with hipped roof, the exposed rafter roof ends, and an exterior chimney. The land was first acquired and taxes paid in 1904 by M. S. Millican. Sometime in 1911 or 1912 a significant increase in taxes from $100 to $700 clearly indicated that the house was built. In 1912 William Earle (known as Earle) Doyle and/or his wife Nell paid taxes until 1917.
