While I am a fi rm believer in sustainable energy within our borders and all for decreasing our need for foreign oil and lessening our carbon footprint, I am so sad to see what has been done to our aina on the cliffs above Waimea Valley. Some of his solders were tattooed half black / half white. Others were entirely tattooed black, with but their lips and eyes left natural. These were especially wild men in wild times. Koi held title to important heiau at Wailuku, Maui and had served as one of Kahekili’s generals during the in- vasion of O`ahu.
