Securing a sustainable future for the European music sector Dear President Juncker, As recording artists and songwriters from across Europe and artists who regularly perform in Europe, we believe passionately in the value of music. Music is fundamental to Europe’s culture. It enriches people’s lives and contributes significantly to our economies. This is a pivotal moment for music. Consumption is exploding. Fans are listening to more music than ever before. Consumers have unprecedented opportunities to access the music they love, whenever and wherever they want to do so. But the future is jeopardised by a substantial “value gap” caused by user upload services such as Google’s YouTube that are unfairly siphoning value away from the music community and its artists and songwriters. This situation is not just harming today’s recording artists and songwriters. It threatens the survival of the next generation of creators too, and the viability and the diversity of their work. The value gap undermines the rights and revenues of those who create, invest in and own music, and distorts the market place. This is because, while music consumption is at record highs, user upload services are misusing “safe harbour” exemptions. These protections were put in place two decades ago to help develop nascent digital start-ups, but today are being misapplied to corporations that distribute and monetise our works. Right now there is a unique opportunity for Europe’s leaders to address the value gap.

    2015-11-04 12:09 CET Citybois fyrer op for hits og fest i VEGA VEGA præsenterer Citybois fyrer op for hits og fest i VEGA X Factor duoen har indtaget Danmark med storm og tager i foråret på turne med nyt materiale. Turnéen rammer Store VEGA onsdag d. 6. april. Gør klar til masser af fællessang og lækre poptunes. Citybois indtog alle teenage-hjerter efter deres medvirken i årets X Factor. Med kun én single og uendelig mængder af charme, solgte Anthon og Thor Falconer Salen ud. Siden hen har de været fast inventar på hitlisternes 1. plads ”Things We Do” gik nr.1 på iTunes samt Spotify og har solgt guld. Andensinglen ”Purple Light” gik også nr. 1 hos Spotify og iTunes og blev duoens første sang på P3. Sommer med Christopher og Burhan G Sommeren er blevet brugt som support for både Christopher og Burhan G og nu træder Citybois i fuld karakter med den største milepæl i karrieren indtil videre: Nye sange og en turné i eget navn med fuldt liveband. Rejsen startede med X Factor og har taget Anthon, Thor og deres fans på mange spændende eventyr. Hvis man bare én gang har oplevet en lille bid ’bois, kan man nemlig slet ikke lade være at rejse med. Drengene kan næsten ikke vente med at komme ud og spille: ”Vi er ved at samle det vildeste’bois-band og har masser af PAT ting i ærmet”, fortæller Anthon og Thorbegejstret om touren. Den vil give endnu flere fans mulighed for at opleve denhelt specielle følelse, det er at dele rum med drengene.
