4 SERVICE Every FOMEI riflescope and binocular set undergoes individual inspection and adjustment at a special workshop in Hradec Králové. The same workshop provides warranty and post- -warranty service.

FOMEI optical devices come with a 3- to 5-year warranty, depending on the model line. Post-warranty service is provided for the entire life of the device. FOMEI service even has the technology to refill devices with inert gas.

5 The best-known parameter that determines by multiples how close the observed object appears. The greater the binoculars’ or riflescope’s zoom, there closer the object appears. For example, at 7x zoom, an object at 140 m is magnified to look like it is 20 m away.

LENS The diameter on binoculars and riflescopes is expressed as the diameter of the front lens through which enters the device. It is expressed in millimetres. A device with a larger lens diameter has better optical properties under poor light conditions.

RELATIVE Relative focal ratio indicates the ratio of magnification to the FOCAL RATIO lens diameter. It is one of the technical parameters of optical devices. When selecting binoculars or a riflescope, it is important to pay attention to still other parameters, such as anti-reflective coatings or prism glass material.

EXIT PUPIL The diameter is indicated by the ratio of the lens DIAMETER diameter to magnification. The larger the exit pupil, the more light reaches the user’s eye. For example, 9x63 binoculars have an exit pupil of 7 mm, so for light passage they are better than 10x42 binoculars, which have an exit pupil of 4.2 mm.

FIELD OF VIEW The field of view indicates the horizon width at a given dis- tance. Generally it is expressed in and is supplemen- ted by the viewing . For FOMEI binoculars, we compare at 1000 m, and for riflescopes, we indicate the field of view at 100 m. The field of view also depends on the zoom. The greater the zoom, the smaller the field of view.

ANTI-REFLECTIVE A multi-layer anti-reflective protective coating to and COATINGS prisms is an indispensable addition to any optical device. It prevents reflective light and allows maximum optical system permeability. The level of the anti-reflective layer is important in choosing the binoculars or riflescope.

6 ALL-GLASS FOMEI binoculars use carefully selected optical glass of a qua- OPTICS lity appropriate to the relevant model line. All elements of the optical system are glass.

ED TECHNOLOGY On selected FOMEI binocular models, the optical system is (EXTRA-LOW made using ED technology. This technology prevents light DISPERSION) passing through from polarizing on the colour spectrum. It greatly increases the focal ratio, contrast and sharpness of the object being observed.

HTC/DEC – Every glass component of a FOMEI binocular or riflescope SPECIAL optical system has an anti-reflective treatment that perfectly ANTI-REFLECTIVE ensures light transmission through the device. The top-of- COATINGS the-line anti-reflective treatments are HTC (High Transmission Coating – for lenses) and DEC (DiElectric Coating – for prism treatment). Binoculars and riflescopes with those treatments are appropriate for observation under reduced light conditions.

DRY NITROGEN Selected FOMEI binoculars are filled with an inert gas — dry FILLING nitrogen — when they are manufactured. This ensures their water and dust resistance. This technology also prevents internal condensation in the optics if there is a sudden temperature change (transition from a cool to a warm environment).

TWIST-UP Most FOMEI binoculars have a TWIST-UP that allows EYEPIECE individual adjustment of the eyepiece distance from the eye. When the eyepiece is twisted, it is possible to use this type of binoculars even with eyeglasses.

BRAND-NAME The FOMEI brand supplies a wide range of add-ons for using ACCESSORIES and maintaining its binoculars and riflescopes. They include bags, straps, tripods, cleaning sets, Neoprene cases for riflescopes, etc.

Ballistic calculator

After the ammunition data and other main parameters are entered, the ballistic calculator calculates the path of the projectile. The ballistic trajectory can be refined by entering other data, such as the shooting distance, the distance of the riflescope axis from the main axis, the size of the optics handle, altitude, temperature and wind speed. You can download the calculated table to a computer or telephone in PDF format and have the necessary information with you at all times.
