There, he “found magic.” Leonard’s dream of acting was put on hold while he served in World War II. When he returned to the , he decided not to continue theater, but rather enroll at Temple University, where he earned a degree in English from the College of Liberal Arts (CLA ’49). Leonard’s younger siblings would follow in his footsteps and begin studying at Settlement, including baby sister Leah, who would, at a very young age, become recognized as a piano prodigy and ultimately graduate from the Curtis Institute of Music.
