PAFURI CAMP

Situated between the and Luvuvhu rivers, the 26 500-hectare Makuleke contract park is Pafuri Camp There are 19 tents, 7 of which are family units that sleep up to 4 people. All the tents are situated on the Luvuvhu River with spectacular views. A unique example of a local community using responsible and conservation to remedy the negative effects their forced removal from the area in 1969 had on their livelihoods.

Our camp is unfenced and all luxury tents are connected to the main area via a network of raised wooden walkways.

GETTING TO PAFURI

PAFURI CAMP is situated in the Makuleke Contract Park in the far north of the Kruger National Park. GPS Co-ordinates : 22°25’15.81”S / 31°13’45.81”E

SELF DRIVE 640km / 7H00 from Johannesburg to PAFURI CAMP • N1 North to Louis Trichardt (Makhado) • Continue on the N1 over the Soutpansberg and turn rigt onto the R525 towards Tshipise • Continue past Tshipise to Pafuri Gate • DETOUR: take the detour to the left of the road just before the bridge has been washed away • Enter the Kruger Park and continue on the H1-9 about 22kms to the Luvuvhu River bridge • Look out for Pafuri Camp signage on the left of the road CHARTER By special arrangement and at a surcharge guests can fly into the following airstrips FLIGHT where we will organise transfers to the camp: • Pafuri Airstrip – 5-minute transfer to Pafuri Camp • Tshikondeni Airstrip – 45-minute transfer to Pafuri Camp • Punda Maria Airstrip – 01H30 transfer to Pafuri Camp AIR & ROAD There are daily flights into Polokwane and Phalaborwa airport and we can arrange for TRANSFERS a transfer from these airports to Pafuri

We can also arrange for transfers from Johannesburg to Pafuri Camp CHILDREN

Children of all ages are welcome at PAFURI CAMP and will be accommodated with their parents or caregivers in family tents.

Children under the age of 7 are not permittedon game activities and children under the age of 12 are not eligible to partake in walks.

Child minding facilities are available on request and at an additional surcharge. COMMUNICATIONS

There is little or no mobile phone signal at PAFURI CAMP. Please note that you are in a wilderness area and there is no wifi available. RETURNAfrica will not be held liable for any roaming or data charges PAYMENT & CANCELLATION POLICIES

The Makuleke Contract Park is located in a moderate malaria area. All visitors to Pafuri and the Kruger National Park should consult their healthcare professional about Malaria prophylactics. We will not be held liable for any illness suffered, the onus is on the guest to take the necessary medical advice and precautions.
