When you serve with College Possible, you help make a college degree possible for students from low- income backgrounds.

How Do I Serve? We offer a variety of service opportunities for college graduates, ranging from working directly with students to coordinating events.

High School Coach (School Based) High school coaches focus on the college access side of our program, are based in high schools and manage cohorts of 20 – 40 juniors or seniors. Junior coaches support juniors by providing ACT/SAT test preparation and college list identification. Senior coaches guide seniors through the college application process, including: essay writing, applications for admission, applying for scholarships and completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). College Coach (Office Based) College coaches focus on the college success side of our program, are based out of the respective College Possible site’s office and connect with their cohorts of students through technology (phone, email, text, etc.). They serve as a coach for College Possible students as they transition from high school through college graduation. College coaches encourage their students to persist through the barriers of college, apply for scholarships, renew financial aid and help link students to student services already available on campus.

Community Partnerships Team Member (Office Based) Community Partnership Team (CPT) members focus on both the college access and success programs and are based out of the respective College Possible site’s office. CPTs support College Possible’s programming through event planning and building and supporting partnerships to serve students from low-income backgrounds. This may include: organizing College Prep Talks (college planning workshops for middle and early high school students); conceiving and organizing program-wide community service days for College Possible students; organizing four practice ACT/SAT exams for high school juniors; organizing campus visits to College Possible Explore partner colleges; coordinating support services to College Possible Bridge partner colleges; and working with leadership team members to develop new partnerships for the site.

College Transition Coaches (Office Based) College Transition coaches serve for a half term spanning between 6-9 months (starting January-February) and are based out of the respective College Possible site’s office. Transition coaches support high school seniors through graduation and the summer transition period to ensure fall college enrollment. This includes assisting in presenting workshops to high school students; leading College Possible recruitment efforts for the incoming class at designated high schools; and serving as additional support in teaching College Possible sessions. In addition, this position assists unenrolled College Possible students in determining future college and career goals.
