220 Halloween Themed Songs 2011 220 Halloween Theme Songs 220 Songs for Halloween Theme Rides in Your Indoor Cycling Classes Compiled by Jennifer Sage, Oct 2011 For many years I’ve been collecting songs for various indoor cycling theme classes. Halloween presents a unique opportunity for some really fun musically themed classes – the variety is only limited by your imagination. You can include “spooky” or classic-but-cheesy Halloween tunes, or you can imagine the wide variety of costumes people wear and use those themes. I’ve included a few common themes such as Sci-Fi and Spy Thriller in my list here. I’ve gotten many song ideas from various online forums, from other instructors, and by simply searching online music sources for “Halloween”, “James Bond”, “Witch”, “Ghost” and other key words. This is my most comprehensive list to date. If you have more song ideas, please email them to me so I can continually update this list for future versions. [email protected]. If you already have this list from my 2010 version, I have updated it in 2011 with about 60 new song suggestions and a few new Halloween album suggestions. Sources for finding these songs: There is no way I can search every source for you but I do want to speed the process up for you by listing at least one source so you don’t spend hours doing so for each song. However, as with music itself, you have your own preference for downloading sources and you may want to check there first. My own preference is to first look on eMusic. Why eMusic? Because it is the least expensive means of acquiring music legally. Especially for Halloween songs, who wants to pay very much for songs that you’ll probably use once a year? (Although some of the songs included are more versatile). Songs on eMusic are usually about about half or less of iTunes. When I cannot find it on eMusic, I’ll then check Amazon (songs can cost $.10 - $.30 less on average than iTunes). iTunes is my least preferred source because of the higher cost and the restrictions. Amazon has two sources, one for CD purchases and for Mp3s. Some are only available on CD, but check both. Amazon has probably the widest selection of all music (that I have found) – more so than iTunes. When you cannot find a song on any of these three, then Google the song and see if it is available on another source, such as a foreign download site (some unfortunately are foreign songs, only available in the US as imports). There are a few other sites I list, such as Spinning.com or a mashup site. For more song ideas, in all sources search “Halloween” under “Albums” – you will get dozens of options for Halloween anthem cds. Many are covers or remixes, some are good, some are poorly replicated. But many will make good “filler” songs for your Halloween rides. You may also want to search for “soundtracks” or “films” for movies, such as Batman, Spiderman, the Matrix and more. Having trouble reading? version 29 July 2020 TOURISM AUSTRALIA UPDATE The tourism industry has had another tough week with interstate travel restrictions tightening and ongoing uncertainty around when the industry will see some return to normality. As frustrating as this is, we are also getting encouraging feedback about significant levels of pent up demand for domestic holidays – and a desire to have different types of holidays. So, while we continue to face some challenges, we can be confident, that when people are able to travel freely again, they will. Tourism Australia is continuing to develop its domestic campaign plans, more details of which we will be sharing this Friday 31 July at 11am in our next webinar. The webinar will include a consumer insights update from our Executive General Manager of Strategy & Research, Rob Dougan, and a marketing update from our Chief Marketing Officer, Susan Coghill. We will also be joined by Australia’s Tourism Minister, Simon Birmingham, who will give an update on Australia’s ongoing response to coronavirus. Register here. Also a reminder that over the past few weeks, Tourism Australia’s international teams have hosted a series of virtual market specific updates and you can watch recordings here. • Souvenir & Program Book (PDF)
THAT STATEMENT CONNECTS the modern Steam Punk Movement, The Jetsons, Metropolis, Disney's Tomorrowland, and the other items that we are celebrating this weekend. Some of those past futures were unpleasant: the Days of Future Past of the X-Men are a shadow of a future that the adult Kate Pryde wanted to avoid when she went back to the present day of the early 1980s. Others set goals and dreams; the original Star Trek gave us the dreams and goals of a bright and shiny future t h a t h a v e i n s p i r e d generations of scientists and engineers. Robert Heinlein took us to the Past through Tomorrow in his Future History series, and Asimov's Foundation built planet-wide cities and we collect these elements of the past for the future. We love the fashion of the Steampunk movement; and every year someone is still asking for their long-promised jet pack. We take the ancient myths of the past and reinterpret them for the present and the future, both proving and making them still relevant today. Science Fiction and Fantasy fandom is both nostalgic and forward-looking, and the whole contradictory nature is in this year's theme. Many of the years that previous generations of writers looked forward to happened years ago; 1984, 1999, 2001, even 2010. The assumptions of those time periods are perhaps out-of-date; technology and society have passed those stories by, but there are elements that still speak to us today. It is said that the Golden Age of Science Fiction is when you are 13.

  • Floating Candleabra
http://www.ghost‐songs.com/props/PropFloater.html#index They say a picture is worth a thousand words, well I am going to give you as many of both as I can! Let us start with a couple pictures of the moving variety in Windows Media (.wmv) format. The first video shows the Floating Candelabra as it appeared during our 2006 Halloween season. As you will see the video camera does not do a particularly good job in the low‐light environment, but it should suffice to convey the smooth, flowing animation of the prop... Gee, perhaps I should have used a tripod... Hah!!! Oh well, live and learn. One of the primary objectives I focused on while developing the Prop Floater was to create an animation that appeared organic and wandering instead of the obvious, repetitive pattern commonly seen when using a Flying Crank Ghost (FCG) type setup to float a candelabra. Please do not misunderstand, I am in no way criticizing the Phantasmechanic's FCG mechanism (or any other similar crank‐type system) for use as a prop floating device; in fact, I suspect that for many haunts the FCG technique will prove to be the better choice. Heck, even Disneyland uses a motorized crank to fly their candelabra in The Haunted Mansion's endless hallway. However, for our haunt, an entirely different kind of animation was needed. I wanted the motion to appear as light and "floaty" as possible; fortunately, I knew just where to turn for inspiration! I have long been a fan of the now deceased Hallowed Haunting Grounds and have always enjoyed a particular fondness for their Floating Ghost Lantern (FGL) which was originally designed by Greg MacLaurin.
