3A PENG PUI YING (21) 3A WONG YUEN KIU (30) THE IMPORTANCE OF TRADITIONAL SPORTS IN HONG KONG MASTERS OF HONG KONG (Equestrian) THE HISTORY OF EQUESTRIAN • Equestrianism made its Summer Olympics debut at the 1900 Summer Olympics in Paris, France. It disappeared until 1912, but has appeared at every Summer Olympic Games since and classified as a formal Olympic Games. • Equestrian events were first held at the 1900 Paris Olympic Games, although it did not include any of the disciplines seen today. There were 4 different equestrian events. • The horse is considered as much an athlete as the rider.
THE HISTORY OF Equestrian In Hong Kong • Equestrian sport is the sport of horsemanship. • On 8 July 2005, an International Olympic Committee held in Singapore , which had decided “Equestrian at the 2008 Summer Olympics” to held in Hong Kong • July 10, 2005 An International Olympic Committee President Rogge visited Hong Kong for three days to investigate the venues and meet with staff member • Equestrian sport comprises eight disciplines and the most popular disciplines in Hong Kong are jumping, dressage and eventing.
