Prachuab-Kirikhan is a province in the central region of , according to the administrative zoning, while it’s geographically in the west, or upper south as stipulated by the Meteorology Department. Not only what were mentioned but also the province has its every adjoined to the neighboring country with the Tanaosri Mountains as their natural border line, and every district is on Gulf of Thai land’s shores, so when seashores are included with the distance of 251 k.m, the shore of Prachuab-Kirikhan could have been the longest of the country and located on the edge of the central and the southern part of Thailand, with its narrowest part of 12 k.m. width at Khlong Warn district . This is why the province is distinguished, and the interesting arenot just Hua-Hin1 “The Land of Shells”, that’s why our trip were head ing for Prachuab’ with The Rajabhakti Park at Hua-Hin as our first assembly point, to pay homage to the 7 former king’s images as Pho Khun Ramkamhaeng the Great, King Naresuarn the Great, King Narayana the Great, King of the Great, King Bhuddayodfah the Great, King Bhumiphol the Great and King Chulachomklao the Great, before traveling to the Pran Buri dam, to embrace with jungle and natural environment like those who addicted to the 2-wheeled lifestyle with Kawasaki Versys-X300 as my workhorse. The first part of the route paved with asphalt all the way to the dam located in Nong Ta Tam sub district, district of Pran Buri, with 1.5 k.m of the dam’s ridge, there is the first class scenic point we can see it’s beautiful scenario beyond the horizontal. Visit here, not only you can see the full level of water in this vast area of the lake, but also the greenery of forest in Tanaosri Mountains environment. We absorbed its beauty to fulfill our imaginations before jumping onto our bikes, and ride them up on difficult routes on the lake’s edge, and this time we’ve discovered the Versys X300’s true performance that can be ridden in many type of routes, with its frame and engine built to fit Thai’s body size, and it’s easiness to be controlled than many bikes in this type with bulky bodies, that’s why the journey filled with joy and fun until we reached the village of “Baan Khao Chao”, the very interesting village in Pran Buri district especially Wat Thum Khao Chao located in moun tain boundary, with many caves to take adventure within their great halls with many stalagmite and stalactite, that had been developed by the district administration agency to make them tourist attractions for the village. But unfortunately, we have less time spent there so we rode pass the temple all the way to the Kui Buri National Park. From Ban Khao Chao, we ride on the black top for a long period across the river of Pran Buri that itself has been the Pran Buri dam’s water source to dusty road again. The route itself is the mix of plains and hills surrounded by line of rid ges for beyond our eye sights, and here is another impressively beautiful scenario on the way with fields of pineapples, oil palm and rubber trees, and certainly that what we’ve seen on the route are the elephant’s dung, and after a while we can see 2 living elephants busily feeding their food, we ride pass them by with our intention not to disturb their activity. Anyway, we reached here because of these things, and with the name of Kui Buri National Park that reminds everyone of these elephants. Isn’t it?

วังเวียงดินแดนแหงกุยหลินเมืองลาว When we reached the National Park, officials there took us out to the area provided for elephant show and to see wild animals came out to feed, the area had been established according the late King Rama Ninth’s I deal to solve problem between humans and elephants in the forest of Kui Buri. For the present day, not only to tone down humans- elephant’s problem but also has been the well known tourist attraction with the reputation of Kui Buri, the safari of Thailand, or the best place of elephant

observation in the country. Unfortunately that the weather wasn’t on our side to see the elephant herd that most of them were in the shades of tree with only 2 of them wandering outside for us to see, and when time is up, we left the park at Kui Buri to another national park named “The Sam Roi Yod National Park” on the sea shore to stay at Sam “Phraya Sam Phraya Beach is 5 k.m. far to the north of the park’s office, this beautiful and quiet beach with 2 k.m length lying from the high mountain side to the mouth of Khao Daeng river, rows of pine trees there suitable for camping or just rest for refreshments. The Sam roi yod National park has its name called from various sources, some had it that a ship was wrecked here with 300 survivors so the name could have been 300 rod (“rod” is “survive” in Thai), but some has assumed that the mountains here has many as 300 more peaks so it called “300 Yod” (“yod” is “peak” in English). But no matter what’s its origination, its importance is the park today had been ranked as the 4th national park and the first marine national park of Thailand that became wildlife sanc tuary, especially the park’s swamp water birds used as their safe haven, and the spectacular landscape that makes it one of the most important destinations, the proof of it was seen by us at dawn on the “Yod Khao Daeng” (The Red Peak), the most striking scenic point on limestone peak with cliff and sea beyond horizon even on cloudy days. Before going back home, we stop pedby to pay respect to Buddha images at Wat Khao Daeng, the temple surrounded by more amazingly beautiful limestone cliff than the past ones. Even though the journey ended at the temple and peak, but actually it’s an eye opening experience for us to know that the valuable place of Prachuab-Kirikan wasn’t just only Hua Hin, and we’ve discovered with ourselves that touring vehicle were not limited to big bikes only, just Kawasaki Versys-X300 is good enough for any journeys.
