Since that time, Dr. Angle has fostered a cam- pus culture that embraces the dual strategic initiatives of providing an excellent educational experience to students and strengthening con- nections with the Chattanooga community and surrounding region. This vision led to the imple- mentation of UTC’s new strategic plan, which was approved by the University of Tennessee Board of Trustees in 2015.

Through a focus on student success at all levels, UTC has made significant increases in the number of bachelor’s degrees awarded and the six-year graduation rate over the past few years. Since 2010, the number of under- graduate degrees awarded has increased 58.7 percent, and the six-year graduation rate rose to 44, marking a 15.7 improvement.

UTC’s average high school GPA for incoming 2016 freshmen was 3.51—the highest in more than 20 years – and the average ACT of 23.7 surpassed both state and national averages for college-bound students. In spring 2017, UTC’s student athletes earned an average GPA of 3.056 with 63 percent of all student- athletes being named to the Athletics Director’s Dr. Angle with 2014 UTC graduate and Rhodes Scholar Robert Fisher and 2014 grad- Honor Roll. uate Nathan Harlan in front of the Power C at the Chamberlain Pavilion.

CALLING ALL FORMER LETTERWINNERS SIGN UP TODAY

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Athletics Department, in conjunction with the Mocs Club, has re-established a letter winners organization to connect with former student-athletes, cheerleaders, managers, trainers and coaches. The C Club was relaunched with the purpose of promoting lifelong bonds and friendships among its members and UTC Athletics.

All former Mocs invested immeasurable time and energy into building a tradition of success in the class- room, in competition and in the community, at UTC. Members of the C Club will continue to serve as ambassadors for Mocs Athletics, while strengthening their relationships with their alma mater.

Initial membership in the C Club is free for all former letterwinners for the first year. To sign up for the C Club, visit GoMocs.com or MocsClub.com, and look for the C Club logo. If you are a former Moc, be sure to share that page on social media and let as many of your teammates know about the return of this organization.

Benefits of the C Club include everything that comes with a Mocs Club membership at the Starter Level. Other perks include a year-long pass that is good for one GA ticket to any regular season home contest at UTC, invitations to semiannual events held throughout the year, the opportunity to network with for- mer student-athletes and members of the UTC Athletics family and periodic e-newsletters and updates from the Director of the C Club.

For questions, contact Mocs Club Assistant Director Alex Ware at (423) 425-5866 ([email protected]).
