2 welcome

Dear DIY Musician Conference Attendee:

’m so excited you’ve chosen to be with us here in Chicago. When we created the first-ever DIY Musician Conference last year, we knew we’d need to build Ian event that stood out from the rest: one that’s affordable, welcoming, and packed with relevant info to inspire you to try new things in your music career. According to 2015’s attendees, the results were outstanding, so we’re glad to be back!

Being a DIY musician these days can feel overwhelming, but we’re here to show you there are more opportunities than ever to take control, connect with fans, and build a successful career in the independent music industry.

Over the next few days, you’ll learn a ton from the speakers, sessions, performers, companies and programming we’ve brought together, but I also encourage you to share personal experiences with your fellow DIY musicians and get to know each other. Everyone was abuzz last year about the energy and camaraderie of the event, and I’m looking forward to seeing it again. After all, the best resources here all weekend are the hundreds of artists and advocates all around you.

What’s new this year? A lot! To complement the fresh programming we’ve added a jam room, free band photos, genre-specific meet-ups and a post- conference party you won’t want to miss.

Have any questions for us? Members of the CD Baby team are available to chat with you at CD Baby HQ (in the Plaza Room) and at our booth in the Hangout Room.

Thanks for being a part of the 2nd annual DIY Musician Conference, and don’t forget to document the weekend on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram using the hashtag #DIYMusician!
