D. Pal Greengs! I am delighted with the release of the latest issue of Dr. D. Y. Pal Vidyapeeth (DPU) newsleer! The newsleer records the various achievements of DPU in the last academic year. The best thing about this issue is that it represents the creave side of DPU students to a fair degree-something that we think we all need to reconnect with. Amidst the busy schedule of semesters, exams, surprise quizzes and all those assignments and problem sheets that keep one busy, we tend to lose track of all the other simpler things that we are capable of, things that we could have been proud of, that can bring one sasfacon. So this me, the issue has made an aempt to bring out the talent concealed within our student community. This issue includes arcles, poems, anecdotes, art-works and a host of other things. In this issue, you can read examples of the impact that our faculty and staff members have on students and alumni or see how our student body steps up me and me again to help others in their me of need. I hope that reading this newsleer will have an impact on and encourage you to have an impact on others. We may never know how much our words or acons influence the lives of those around us. But we can choose daily to be a posive influence on others in a way that could change the rest of their lives even if it’s just within the walls of where you work. Here at DPU, colleagues not only support and encourage each other but are there in me of each other’s need. As for our team of editors, designers, photographers, and correspondents, in addion to generang creave content from the student populaon has worked extensively to report on the events in and around the Vidyapeeth. The final publicaon reflects and encompasses the diversity inherent to the academic and extra- curricular spaces in DPU. The newsleer connues to expand its reach to achieve its vision of being a truly representave student publicaon. God Bless! 1 Vice Chancellor's Message Dr. N. J. Pawar At DPU, cultural acvies have always been an integral part of students’ academic pursuit. For, every acvity in an educaonal instuon plays a significant role in students’ overall development. The Vidyapeeth designs cultural and social acvies that are aligned with the educaonal objecves of the instuon and the requirement of the students. Whether the acvies focus on sports, arts, music, science or other areas and co-curricular acvies.... they play a significant role in students’ overall development, as well as screening talents and giedness among students. These acvies assist students in adapng to real life scenarios and enhance their personal skills. It also helps them in beering organizaonal, presentaon, leadership and interpersonal communicaon skills. Not only that, these acvies play a compelling role in enriching students on an emoonal, cognive, physical, and social level. It also acts as a catalyst for the promoon of naonal integraon, coexistence, cultural values, and general health and well-being of the country. So, organizing these acvies is a must. The coordinators of these events at DPU spend considerable me organizing, managing and balancing these acvies so that it is auned properly with the academic curriculum. All these acvies provide every student get the opportunity to learn beyond subjects and the mere confines of a classroom. Due to the onslaught of the global pandemic in the last couple of months, we have all lived through uncertainty and fear. It seems to be clear that this will be a way of life with the rise and ebb of COVID 19 across the country. We have accepted the new normal, have adapted to it and are moving forward. In the coming days and months, there is hope and a change for the beer. For I believe, there is light at the end of the tunnel. As P. B Shelley said, “O, wind if winter comes, can spring be far behind? This the newsleer serves as a window through which the complete profile of the academic and co-curricular acvies, achievements and progress made by the various instutes of Dr. D. Y. Pal Vidyapeeth, Pune have been chronicled. Teaching and learning process is the heart of DPU, Pune. The various instutes offer a brilliant porolio of educaonal programs that are recognized across the country. We believe in learning by doing and in empowering our students so that they are prepared to accept the diverse challenges of the future. As the former President of US, Barack Obama said, “The future belongs to young people with an educaon and the imaginaon to create.” Stepping into the portals of DPU, one will find our various instuons are the temples of educaon, learning and innovaon. The Instutes connue the quest of providing the best quality educaon to students. We are commied to creang an ambience for nurturing innovaon, creavity and excellence in our students. Today’s students are techno advanced generaon who live in a sheer compeve world. As such, the role of educaon is highly challenging in this transion age. Hence, the focus is chiefly on academics along with other EDITORIAL BOARD dimensions of constant growth and development of students.
