District 13 Toastmasters Speaker Proposal

2017 Spring Conference Overview

The 2017 District 13 Fall Conference will be held at the Penn Stater Hotel and Conference Center in State College, PA from April 7-9, 2017. The Theme is: "Let's Get Social! Spring into F.U.N - Finding Unlimited Networks!

The vision for the conference is to bring to our District the many ways they can improve their communication and leadership skills and build their personal and professional networks through social media and technology all while having fun. For as Ralph Smedley has said: "We learn best through moments of enjoyment.”

Our keynote speakers are two of the 2016 World Championship of Public Speaking finalists: Aaron Beverly and Elliot Eddie. Aaron will be giving a keynote on Table Topics, and Elliot will be giving a keynote on Storytelling for us on Saturday, and on Sunday, they will combine their talents to tell us what it takes to get to the World Stage.

We have the opportunity for six fantastic Toastmasters to present a workshop in support of our theme and our vision. Some suggestions for topics would include but are not limited to an introduction to social media, using technology to enhance your presentations, how to entertain your audience, and humorous speaking.

As a presenter you may be asked to attend a club meeting and present a 5-to-7-minute presentation regarding your topic as the next phase of the selection process.

If interested in presenting at the Spring Conference, please complete the following Proposal form and submit to our Spring Conference Education Chair, Jing Humphreys, DTM, PDG, at by February 17, 2017.

I look forward to seeing you Get Social and Spring into F.U.N at the Spring Conference!
