CLASSROOM RULES:

  1. Respect everyone and everything in the classroom/school.
  2. Always do your best work.
  3. Be honest. (Cheating will result in a grade of 0 and referral to principal.)
  4. Show all work. (I will not accept homework or tests without work shown.)
  5. NEVER use a pen in math class. (Points are deducted from assignments/tests when a pen is used.)

LUNCH REMEDIATION: My room is open Tuesday, Thursday and Friday during lunch for remediation. TUESDAY is math priority day. This means that if you owe me anything in math, you MUST come to me on TUESDAYS. Math takes priority over other subjects that day. Please do not make me write you up for not coming to get your work done, but I will if that is what it takes for me to get you to do your work.

Lunch RemediationPriority Days for each subject:

  • Monday: Science/ Health/PE/Driver’s Ed
  • Tuesday: Math/English (Math has priority)
  • Wednesday: Social Studies, Fine Arts, Foreign Language, Mrs. Simpson’s Classes
  • Thursday: English/Math (English has priority)
  • Friday: CTE Classes (I am open this day if you need help or to make up work)

ABSENCES/TARDIES: If you are absent, it is your responsibility to check the calendar, missing assignment board and to come to me to get help if you do not understand the work you missed.

Tardies are reset at the beginning of the new semester. You are allowed 2 free tardies from January through May. On the third tardy, you are referred to your principal. (See your student handbook for disciplinary actions for tardies). To be counted present and on time to class you must be in my room BEFORE the tardy bell rings, have all needed materials, and have taken care of bathroom needs and water during the break. Students requesting to leave after class has begun because they are not prepared will receive a tardy.

TUTORING: Free after school tutoring is available on Tuesdays from 3-5 in room 208.

CREDIT RECOVERY: If you failed Core I math for the Semester, you need to see Mr. Carl Curtis in room 554 (across from guidance) ASAP. He will set up a plan for you to regain credit. This must be done quickly as there is a limited window of opportunity to regain lost credit. Remember: If you fail Core I, you must repeat it next year if you do not complete credit recovery. This will put you behind on graduation requirements.

We know that not every household has internet/computer access. That is why we allow students access to computers in math classrooms during lunch remediation days and in the library before school and during lunch. When an assignment is given that requires computer access, students who do not have home access, must complete the assignment during lunch remediation. This is the reason several days are given to complete the computer assignments.
