STUDENT BODY VICE PRESIDENT

Responsibilities begin on April 6, 2018

I.SCOPE

This position oversees the internal processes of Student Government and completes the duties/responsibilities of the Student Body President in his/her absence.

II.DUTIES

  1. Coordinate the Maverick Discount Program
  2. Coordinate the Student Government training program
  3. Serve as a liaison with student members of University Committees (which includes coordination of meetings and reports)
  4. Oversee all membership tasks, including member evaluations, member awards, and member socials
  5. Coordinate membership drives/recruitment for all branches
  6. Serve as liaison with the UTA Ambassadors and attend their bi-weekly meetings
  7. Coordinate the annual NightWalk
  8. Chair the Student Governance Banquet planning committee
  9. Serve as a member of the Undergraduate Assembly
  10. Serve as a member of U.T.S.S.A.C.
  11. Attend President’s Roundtable Meetings
  12. Meet with Student Government Advisor at least once per week.
  13. Will perform other duties as deemed necessary by the SG Advisor

III.MEETINGS

  1. Must be available Wednesdays from 5 – 8PM for weekly Executive Branch meetings
  2. Must be available Fridays from 3 – 5PM for weekly Student Government Leadership Team meetings
  3. Must be available for the following trainings:
  4. May 14-16: Student Governance Retreat (overnight)
  5. TBD: Student Affairs Student Employee Training (one Saturday in August)
  6. August 13: Student Governance Work Day
  7. August 16: Student Government Member Training
  8. October 5 – 7: Leadership Retreat (overnight)
  9. January 7: Student Governance Work Day
  10. January 10: Student Government Member Training
  11. And any other trainings/work days as deemed appropriate by Dr. Taylor

IV.OFFICE HOURS

  1. Must maintain 15 office hours per week during fall/winter/spring semesters
  2. Summer employment may be available, at the discretion of Dr. Taylor
  3. Note: Weekly Executive Branch meetings do not count toward the 15 hours.
