- Startup (depending on student’s experience level, may be with ropes and chocks still on the wheels.)
- Taxi (demonstrate S-Turns)

4.1.1 Ground (1 hour)
- Instructor explains Control Functions
- Review Taxi distinctive of the tailwheel
- Student talks Instructor through preflight
4.1.2 Flight (1 hour)
- Taxi practice
- Takeoff (student with CFI follow-through)
- Demonstrate interactivity of Controls (“Control Functions” article)
- Coordination. Demonstrate/exaggerate slips/skids
- Sit up straight
