Forgetfulness

You will have to copy this text neatly and without any mistakes on an extra sheet of paper. This will cost you a lot of time and effort, but you probably have for- gotten something and this is the consequence. Now you may think that I am over- reacting and this punishment is exaggerated because everyone makes mistakes. The reasons for forgetting your homework are always the same: for example: “My sister took my homework and she put it into the trashcan”, “I forgot my exercise book” or “My mother didn’t remind me.” All this does not matter, because in the end, YOU are responsible for your homework and materials and not your teacher, your parents or your sister. You could do much more interesting things at the moment like e.g. reading a book, doing sports, meeting friends or watching a film. What a shame you have to sit at your desk writing this text, just because you forgot to do your homework properly. If you had done your homework, you would have finished it in about twenty minutes. Because of your laziness, you will sit here much longer now. But maybe this text will have some positive effects. Let’s think about problems, which come up when other people forget to do their job: Your dad’s boss hasn’t paid him his salary for the last three months, your mom has forgotten to switch off the gas; your teacher has forgotten to remind you of the test next week and your friend has forgotten to return your CDs to you. How would you feel? I think you would feel angry and upset. What about trying not to forget so much any more in the future but to be reliable? All you need is your homework diary, into which you copy your home- work at school and into which you look at home. The advantage for you will be that you will not have to write this text any more and you will have better marks, because you will always have your homework with you when it is due. I hope you will appreciate my advice. At least I could tell you what I think about your forget- fulness.
