·  Development and clinical evaluation of recombinant antigens.

·  Since 1989 experience in the design and work with systems for in vitro

amplification of nucleic acids (PCR, RT-PCR, LCR, NASBA, etc.).

·  Extensive experience in applied nucleic acid-based diagnostics.

·  Development of diagnostic test systems for clinical bacteriology and virology.

·  High-sensitive detection and identification of mycobacteria.

Achievements

·  Author of more than 100 scientific publications in the field.

·  Inventor position at several German, European and US patent applications dealing with the amplification or specific detection of nucleic acids.

·  Member of the "German Study Group on Mycobacteria" (AKM).

·  Member of the board E3 of the German Institute of Standardization (DIN) "Serological procedures for the diagnosis of infectious diseases".

·  Vice-chairman of the board AK E3/E9 of the German Institute of Standardization (DIN) "Molecular biology-based procedures for the detection of Mycobacteria".
