Meeting Minutes

June 19, 2010

The monthly meeting of the White Lake Shores Association was called to order at 9:07 a.m. on May 15, 2010 at the Stumble Inn by Frank Fellone, President.

Board Members Present: Eileen Welpe, Paula Eannace, Ron Holt, Neal Rothfuss, Phil Fenton, Steve Addison, Al Bruni, Phil Berardi, Pat Holt, Jim Colacicco, Sue Addison, Angela Matuella, Jon Kirschner and Frank Fellone.

Guests Present: Rich and Tracy Broccoli, Brenda and Tom Petty, Chris and Sarah Burnett-Wolle and Pete Sotanski.

Board Members Excused: Donna Sbarra and Chris Fenton.

May 15, 2010 Meeting Minutes

The minutes for the May 15, 2010 meeting were read. Motion to accept the meeting minutes as read, made by Jon Kirschner and 2nd by Phil Fenton. Motion carried.

Treasurer’s Report

Eileen Welpe, Treasurer, reported a balance of $7,925.03. A motion to accept the Treasurer’s report was made by Phil Fenton and seconded by Angela Matuella. Motion carried. It was discussed that this year’s Chicken BBQ was a test run, 75 were sold and could have sold more. Kudo’s given to Phil Fenton and family for all their work. We will probably do in 2011. We should research a new place, to reduce expenses and increase more visibility.

Committee Reports

Fundraising Committee

Sue Addison, Fundraising Chairperson thanked everyone for help at the BBQ. She reminded everyone of the Spaghetti dinner July 31st at The White Otter Club and the August 29th Pancake breakfast at Camp Russell. Tickets for Cash Splash were sent out. Reminders of up coming events will be included.

Dock Committee

Paula Eannace, Dock Committee Chairperson, reported that the committee has met, twice. 4 members on waiting list were assigned dock space. We still have 23 on waiting list. Committee will be meeting again in upcoming weeks. Legal issues are being addressed with lawyer.

Membership

Pat Holt reported 107 memberships for 2010-2011, received. 22 are Associate members. Board would like to know past pd members who have not sent in membership to date.

Beach Committee

Frank Fellone reported we had approximately 50 people for clean-up and were divided into 3 groups for all the beaches. Debris needed to be removed from C Beach. B Beach sand was graded. Motion by Frank Fellone to build a Kayak rack on B and C beach was seconded by Paula Eannace. Carried Cost is under $200 per each rack. The canoe rack was warping under weight, going to be reinforced. Researching placing white pines on A Beach.

By-Laws Committee

Steve and Paula working on the revisions, will be submitted for review at next month’s meeting. Revisions are recommendations from lawyer to help protect the association. Steve presented some of changes to be considered, Multi-level memberships, incorporating the nominating committee in the by –laws. Changes to be reviewed by lawyer and then will be presented to the board.

Old Business

Follow up from civil court cases against Mattesons Market and Brian Albert are on hold, both have gone back to the planning committee. Mattesons’ cabins recent ads show White Lake, NY and in very fine print, “nearby lake excludes white.” Meeting to be set up with Mattesons and board members.

A Beach Gate Frank Fellone and Steve Addison met with the Woodgate Board members, to discuss placement of gate. Discussion include the placing gate closer to 28 to deter parking in area, a larger turn around area and who was to do the work. Angela Matuella and 2nd by Paula Eannace made a motion to place gate closer to route 28, now and lock if possible to benefit the association members.

New Business

AWLA has a membership directory which funds go into the fireworks fund. We were asked to place an ad. Motion by Angela Matuella, 2nd by Jon Kirschner to place a $100.00 ad to advertise our upcoming events. Carried.

AWLA approached us to use B Beach for the fireworks this year. The National Boy Scout Council has disapproved the use of Camp Russell for the staging. Concerns expressed included our insurance, use of the beach for viewing and access to boats, and the companies insurance. No action was taken until more information, available.
