Undergraduate Scholarship Opportunities 2016-2017

Deadline for submission: 5:00 p.m., Friday, 1 April 2016

The School of Oceanography offers numerous need-based and merit-based undergraduate scholarships including:  Need-based awards monetarily equivalent to as much as three quarters of in-state tuition  Merit-based book and supply awards of $500 or more

Our generous scholarship donors have made funds available for general and specialized applicants. Students are encouraged to review the list of scholarships on the website and address any specific criteria that may qualify them for particular award in their personal statement.

Scholarships winners will be announced by the end of Spring Quarter. Eligible undergraduates are limited to matriculating Oceanography majors in good academic standing who will be enrolled for at least two quarters during the 2016-2017 academic year (summer, autumn, winter, or spring). Students receiving financial aid should contact the UW Financial Aid Office regarding how winning a scholarship might affect their award.

How to Apply Please submit one packet containing the following:  page 2 of this application  a one-to-two page personal statement (see page 2)  a copy of your unofficial UW undergraduate transcript (available on MyUW)  copies of other college-level transcripts (if appropriate).
