Mathography

Your first assignment of the year is to write a letter telling me about yourself. This letter will help me to get to know you as an individual.

 Start your letter with “Dear Mrs. Cantore”. Please make sure you sign your letter.

 Your letter will be at least three paragraphs long. Each paragraph will contain at least five complete sentences. Please make your sentences interesting and start your sentences with a variety of different “sentence starters”.

 The three paragraphs will tell me about the following: You as an individual Introduce yourself using the name you like to be called. You may describe your hobbies, talents, interests, goals or dreams. Is there something you are particularly proud of? I would love to also hear anything else you think would help me to know you better.

You as a student Describe yourself as a student. What is your favorite subject and why do you like it. What types of activities help you to learn best? What types of activities do you find frustrating? How faithfully do you do your homework? Do you find homework helpful in learning new concepts ?

You as a math student Describe your most memorable moment in math and why you remember it. What are your favorite and least favorite math topics? Explain how you feel about math this year. What grade do you expect to earn? Is there anything in particular that I can do to help you be successful in math this year? What are your favorite activities to do in math class?

 Your letter must be typed and will include a proper heading in the upper left hand corner. Please include at least two pictures that would help you to describe yourself. Your pictures can be either hand drawn or clipart.

I am looking forward to reading your letters to get to know you better as we begin our new school year!
