The Fundraising Committee of Community Mediation Upper Shore

Community Mediation Upper Shore, is having its first fundraiser EVER! Please don’t feel obligated to come but if you would like to attend it really should be a fun afternoon. Check out Mr. Davis’s website. In addition to being an amazing pianist, he has an incredible story of overcoming prejudice through conversation. Let me know if you would like to join Tom and me and the rest of our mediator community on Sunday, April 10 at 4 in Rock Hall, Maryland. Peace! Penni—

WHAT IS MEDIATION? Mediation helps people reach agreements, rebuild relationships and find permanent solutions to their disputes. It is a process in which people speak for themselves and make their own decisions.

COMMUNITY MEDIATION MARYLAND (CMM) is a state organizationwith offices in Glen Burnie which was established in response to a state-wideinitiative by Chief Justice Bell of the Maryland District Court systemto relievea back-log of cases in the District Court system. CMM'svision is for every Maryland citizen to have awareness of and access to an affordable, often free, high quality community mediation service.CMM founds, supports and trains volunteers in centers throughout the state.

COMMUNITY MEDIATION UPPER SHORE (CMUS),based in Chestertown,is one of 18 centers throughout the state which supports the mission of CMM. These casestypically involve disputes between neighbors, generations, divorcing parents, local businesses and clients, school associates - any conflict that normally would arise in everydaycommunity living.
