Subscriptions are due - our system is the same as for previous years

All NZCETA 2011 members have been sent subscription invoices for the year 1 February 2012 to 31 January 2013 including the Membership Renewal 2012 form. We urge you to take a minute or two to complete the information required on the form - please do not state “same as last year” as our system is reprocessed each year and we do wish to ensure that our membership information is completely accurate. This form must be returned either with the payment or if payment is made by direct credit please post, fax or email CETA directly. CETA membership is individual membership only.

We hope you will encourage any of your colleagues who would benefit from CETA membership to join. The Membership Application Form is on our website – go to Membership for the link.

CETA Term 1 Subject Catalogues and related Information

Over the last week we have sent subject information directly to our members via our subject mailing lists. This means that Accounting; Business Studies; Digital Technologies; Economics members received the Term 1 2012 information relevant to their subject.

Business Studies – February 2012

Addressing Business Studies at NZC Level 8/NCEA Level 3 & Reviewing NZC Levels 6 & 7/NCEA Levels 1 & 2 – facilitated by Narelle Stone

Narelle is been involved in Business Studies for a number of years, including the development of Teaching and Learning Guide for Business Studies and the development each level of the curriculum and achievement standards and therefore will be able to give a great deal of advice and guidance – we encourage you to attend as this will be a very useful course for teachers of Business Studies.

Last year we alerted you of the dates of this course and that the registration form was on the CETA website. It is not too late to register!

Registration closes five days prior to the day each course is to be held.

This course will focus on the requirements for NZ Curriculum Level 7/NCEA Level 2, with opportunities to review other levels.

Accounting – Term 3 2012

This course will focus on the requirements for newly aligned Accounting NZ Curriculum Level 8/NCEA Level 3 which is to be introduced in 2013. Opportunity to review aspects of NZC Levels 6 & 7/NCEA Levels 1 & 2 will also be included.

Economics – Term 3 2012

This course will focus on the requirements for newly aligned Economics NZ Curriculum Level 8/NCEA Level 3 which is to be introduced in 2013. Opportunity to review aspects of NZC Levels 6 & 7/NCEA Levels 1 & 2 will also be included.

An essential teachers’ handbook for any teacher who is introducing Business Studies at Level 8 of The New Zealand Curriculum and is assessing using the NCEA Level 3 Achievement Standards introduced for the 2012 year. It relates specifically to the Senior Secondary Teaching and Learning Guidelines for Business Studies published by the Ministry of Education. The booklet includes all the areas of programme design and implementation for scheme development. It addresses the two Learning Objectives required from Level 8 of The New Zealand Curriculum and the four Business Studies themes: Functions of Business; People in Business; Business Management; Business Environment. The two Learning Objectives are incorporated into each of the themes.
