JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title:Capital Appeal Coordinator

Reports to:Head of Fundraising

Hours of work:Full time – fixed term 12 months

Job Summary:

This is an income-generating, outward-facing role with responsibility for

overseeing the Capital Appeal fundraising programme, ensuring it is delivered on

time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  1. To project manage the Capital Appeal fundraising and communication plan, ensuring key events and activities are planned in, progress is recorded and that all stakeholders are regularly updated.
  2. To support thefundraising teams(corporate, trust, community, individuals) in achieving their Capital Appeal targets through assisting with prospect research, proposal writing and making financial ‘asks’.
  3. To produce clear plans that enable collaborative and joined up working.
  4. To provide project update reports to highlight current actions, risks and issues and forthcoming priority areas.
  5. To track performance against targetand produce accurate reporting of income and expenditure.
  6. To work closely with other departments to raise awareness of the Appeal, the part they play and to coordinate communication aboutprogress of the Capital Appeal fundraising plan.
  7. To act as a central point of coordination for Capital Appeal fundraising collateral,ensuring accurate & effective messagingand working closely with the Marketing team to plan print and communication activities for the Appeal.
  8. To regularly review the Appeal microsite and ensuring it is up to date with fundraising information and progress.
  9. To work with the Appeal Committee byfacilitating meetings,supporting solicitation events for high net worth individuals, assisting with the planning and execution of specific events and attending events as appropriate.
  10. To follow up on pledges made by individuals who have been introduced by Appeal Committee members and ensure that all high-value donors or looked after well, in a way which encourages their long-term support for the Hospice.
  11. To ensure all relevant activity is recorded on the database in line with database policy.
  12. To work closely with all of the Fundraising team ensuring all opportunities are pursued to ensure highest level of benefit for the Hospice
  13. To keep the Head of Fundraising fully informed of all activities at regular one to one meetings, written monthly reports and full participation in all team meetings
  1. To work outside of regular office hours as and when required.
  2. To understand the philosophy and ethos of St. Peter’s Hospice.
