Xpedite intelliSEND Service Provider How-To

This document explains how-to use the Xpedite intelliSEND Service Provider after it has been installed.

The Xpedite intelliSEND Service Provider is a tool that enables users of Microsoft Outlook and/or Exchange clients to create and broadcast messages seamlessly and transparently utilizing Xpedite’s value-added messaging services (messageREACH e-mail, Fax and voiceREACH voice-mail).

Once installed the capability to transmit Fax, E-mail via messageREACH and voice broadcasts via voiceREACH are options existing in two areas: “new mail message composition” button and via the Outlook “Tools” menu under the “Xpedite” menu item.

Clicking on the arrow button immediately following the “New” mail message composition button will display the Xpedite messaging options of “New messageREACH E-mail”, New Xpedite Fax”, “New voiceREACH Voice Mail” and “New Xpedite Contact”.

Alternately, clicking on the “Tools” menu item, selecting “Xpedite” and finally selecting “New” will provide the same message creation capabilities of “New messageREACH E-mail”, New Xpedite Fax”, “New voiceREACH Voice Mail” and “New Xpedite Contact”.

The Service Provider software allows Fax transmissions by means of the special message composition form as well as printing from an application to the “Xpedite Fax” standalone print driver. Ad-hoc addresses can be entered manually in the To: field or addresses can be entered in the Microsoft Contacts or Personal Address Book (PAB) using the Xpedite related addressing templates.

The above example demonstrates printing to the Xpedite Fax standalone print driver from Microsoft Word. A document printed to the Xpedite Fax print driver will cause the New Xpedite Fax message composition form within Outlook to launch the same way if launched manually.

The above is a blank Xpedite Fax message composition dialog which allows documents to be attached or text to be entered within the mail message that will be rendered to Fax and delivered via the Xpedite Fax plant.

The Service Provider software allows voice broadcast transmissions by means of the special message composition form. Ad-hoc addresses can be entered manually in the To: field or addresses can be entered in the Microsoft Contacts or Personal Address Book (PAB) using the Xpedite related addressing templates.

A PC equipped with a microphone is required to record voice messages for delivery via voiceREACH. Recorded messages can be played back during creation or pre-recorded WAV files can be attached for delivery.

Note: The use of voiceREACH requires the customer account to be properly configured using the voiceREACH FTP base parser. If this parser is not enabled with the account used, the messages will error.

Each message composition form is proprietary to the related Xpedite service. The messageREACH E-mail composition form represents the full capability of the intelliSEND Wizard HTML creation tool, but packaged under Microsoft Outlook. It is the most complex of the three message creation forms due to the infinite capabilities of HTML document creation. All of the features contained within the intelliSEND Wizard 2.5 product are available from within Outlook using the Service Provider.

New enhancements have been made to the intelliSEND Wizard which are to be incorporated into the Service Provider in futures releases of the software.

New Xpedite specific addresses can be entered in the Microsoft Contacts or Personal Address Book (PAB) using the Xpedite related addressing templates.

Clicking on the arrow button immediately following the “New” mail message composition button will display the “New Xpedite Contact” addressing option and alternately, clicking on the “Tools” menu item, selecting “Xpedite” and finally selecting “New” will provide the same capability. Addresses created using the Xpedite addressing templates are proprietary to the Xpedite related services and all messages addressed using an Xpedite related address will conform to and deliver via the appropriate Xpedite service.

The “Local List Address” template allows CSV files to be used in conjunction with any of the Xpedite message composition forms for use with either, messageREACH, XDDS or voiceREACH.

Note: The CSV files must conform to related service specifications and include the appropriate CSV file column headings.
