Rosedale Middle School

January 4, 2016

Dear Parents,

We would like to take this time to make you aware of the upcoming 8th grade end of year events and the cost, if any. Please remember that these activities are for all students who qualify for graduation at the end of the year.

Cap & Gown

The cost to own a gown will be $25 if you wish to keep it. If your student has a sibling that graduated in the last 10 years, they may use their gown. Please make sure they try on the gown to ensure a proper fit. If you choose not to purchase a gown, or wear a siblings, a gown will be loaned to your student. If you wish to purchase, a gown to keep you must place the order by Feb. 29, 2016.

Graduation Party

The graduation party will be held June 1, 2016, at Rosedale Middle School from 6:00 pm until 8:30 pm. The party is traditionally sponsored by the eighth grade parents in conjunction with the Rosedale Middle School Parent Teacher Club. The next planning meeting will be held some time in March, so watch for the flyers to come home.

Magic Mountain

The eighth grade trip to Magic Mountain is scheduled for Tuesday, May 31, 2016. Entrance tickets are $70.00, which includes the charter bus fee. If your student has a season pass they need to bring it in to be verified and $40.00 for transportation. Magic Mountain will need to be paid for by April 15, 2016. Please call Mrs. Devahl at 588-6030 if you have any financial concerns regarding this.

Graduation

Graduation will be held Friday, June 3, 2016, at Liberty High School, 925 Jewetta Ave. The graduation ceremony will begin promptly at 9:00 am. Parking will be limited this year due to the fact that Liberty High School will still be in session. All graduating eighth grade students must be at the stadium no later than 8:30 am. Even though the students will be graduating in a cap and gown boys will be requested to wear slacks, clean shoes and a collared shirt with a tie. Girls are requested to wear a nice dress and shoes. If you coose to wear heels make sure that you can walk comfortably without the fear of stumbling or tripping.

It is our intention that the graduation ceremony be a special day for all of our students and their families. We ask your help in dealing with problems regarding any undue comments or disruptions (i.e. catcalls, whistling, yelling, air horns….) that would draw attention away from other graduates and spoil in any way the overall tone of the ceremony. We do encourage warm applause for all our graduates. Your assistance with this is requested and greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Becky Devahl

Principal
