Activity Details

Science Works: Come and have great fun at ScienceWorks by experiencing hands on science and discovering about a range of topics from lightning to the human body. Depending on time we will also visit the planetarium and see the indoor lightning show (all included in the cost).

Melbourne Museum: Melbourne Museum is a great place to explore and our natural world. Packed with amazing things to see from dinosaurs, wild animal Aboriginal art and our Earth. You will be amazed how beautiful our planet can be!

Polly Woodside: The enchanting 1885 tall ship, the Polly Woodside, is a reminder of Australia’s rich maritime history and of the importance of such ships to the settlement and development. If you have been here it is a must see. You will can explore a large ship that travelled the world only 200 years ago.

Movies + Pancake Parlour: This day will be packed full of fun. We will head over to Highpoint Cinemas and choose a movie to watch. We will then make our way over to Pancake Parlour where we will have pancakes for lunch. Pancake Parlour pancakes are about $10-$18.

Aquarium: Experience life under the sea. The Melbourne Aquarium have 12 different habitat zones where you will see animals you have never seen before and learn about our amazing ocean.

Melbourne Star + Harbour Town: It is finally up and running! If you come along you will see Melbourne from a new angle, from above! Afterwards we will walk around Harbour Town to find some lunch.

You Yangs National Park: Become one with nature with a drive to the You Yangs National Park and a 3.2km walk to the highest peak (Flinders Peak Lookout). We will also have a picnic at the Big Rock Picnic Area so don’t forget to bring some lunch!

Williamstown Craft Market: The Williamstown Craft Market has been operating for an amazing 25 years. Come and experience over 70 local stalls selling a variety of products that are handmade or home grown, smell and taste the aromas of the amazing food and listen to the live music being played.

Melbourne Zoo: Melbourne Zoo hosts an array of amazing animals to see and learn about. From the animals in Africa, America and India to our own Australian animals come along and see Earth’s amazing creatures.

ACMI: The Australian Centre for the Moving Image is the gateway to the digital world. You will see DreamWorks production behind the scenes such as Kung Fu Panda, Shrek and Madagascar to name a few.

Ten Pin Bowling: It is again time to have a day of Ten Pin Bowling Fun! Bring your swinging arms and join us when we go to play Ten Pin Bowling.

VFL Match: Experience true community footy at its best as you watch your local club the mighty Coburg Football Club take on the Frankston Dolphins.

Ice Hockey: Head to the Medibank Ice House to watch the mighty Melbourne Ice take on the Perth Thunder in the fast paced, exciting action that is Australian Ice Hockey.

Action Indoor Sports: We head to Box Hill Action Indoor sports to try out some different indoor sports including soccer, cricket and beach volleyball.


Important Information/Terms and Conditions

Program Leaders: Program Leaders are First Aid, CPR and Anaphylaxis trained. All leaders hold a Working with Children Check Card.

Meeting point: All programs will depart from Coburg Leisure Centre, Bridges Reserve, Bell Street, Coburg. Active Moreland RAP staff will sign in participants as they arrive and sign them out as they depart.

Cancellations: If a participant is unable to attend a scheduled outing - cancellation must be made two days prior to the activity to allow for people on the waiting list to be notified. Please call Chris on 9354 3504 (BH) or email . In the event of a late cancellation the participant will be charged the full cost of the activity unless a medical certificate for the day can be produced, whereby no charge will be incurred.

Cancellation due to weather: In the event of weather that affects the activity scheduled, Active Moreland may take the option to change the program at the last minute to ensure a program still occurs. In this case participants will be notified as soon as possible. This change may happen while on the program and may result in a program finishing earlier. Should these need to happen parents and guardians will be notified of the changes immediately.

Arriving on time: Participants must arrive on time for activities. RAP staff will not wait longer than 15 minutes after the time specified on your schedule. Being late is unfair to participants and can also cause anxiety to those who are on the bus and ready to go. Charges will apply to participants in line with the above cancellation fees.

Waiting List: If you miss out on a place for an activity but wish to be placed on the waiting list please call Chris on 9354 3504 (BH) or email . A position cannot be guaranteed and you may be informed at short notice of an opportunity to attend

What to bring: Please note that activities do not include drinks and snacks – unless otherwise stated. Each participant must come with their concession and companion card, appropriate clothing for the activity and either money (where appropriate) or drinks and snacks. During the months of October - March a hat and sun cream is a must for all participants and support workers. Specific information is listed beside the activity.

What not to bring: Participants will be fully responsible for any valuables they bring to the program. We recommend that participants do not bring any valuables such as electronic devices, jewellery etc that are not necessary for the program. No alcohol, cigarettes or any illegal substances are to be brought on the program nor can participants be under the influence of alcohol or illegal substances.

Participant Liability: Participants will be liable for any damage caused to Active Moreland, Moreland Council, Public or Activity Provider property while on the program. Reckless or intentional actions that leads to damage may also result in participants being banned from future programs.
