GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION RESPONSIBILITY:

Key leader responsible for administration, financial management, and compliance for Divisions in the Department of Pediatrics, specifically Emergency Medicine/Child Abuse Pediatrics.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Area Specific Job Accountabilities:

1. Working collaboratively with clinical leadership, provides leadership, strategic direction, and vision for their respective divisions and service lines including facilitating regular touchpoint meetings with departmental, and divisional leadership to ensure consistent and open communication. 2. Identifies opportunities for improved performance and financial return for their respective divisions. Responsible for leading the preparation of market, financial and operational analyses and business plans in collaboration with the appropriate ambulatory directors, clinic managers and financial services staff. This includes analyses to strategically allocate resources across the enterprise in support of the organization’s strategic and financial goals. 3. Responsible for regularly monitoring of and reporting on divisional performance, in collaboration with divisional leadership, to the Department and to Hospital leadership, and for developing appropriate responses to identified issues. 4. Responsible for the management of the day to day operations of the administrative, academic and research activities for the divisions. 5. Prepares and administers the divisions operational and capital budgets with the appropriate organizational directors (e.g. Ambulatory Directors) with input from the Division Head, Clinical Practice Director, principal investigators, and Departmental leadership. 6. Partners with Medical Group Senior Director of Finance, the Director of Professional Billing, Coding and Compliance, and their respective staff, and collaboratively with the Division Chief and Clinical Practice Director to identify opportunities to maximize professional billing revenue. Works with divisional leadership to assure associated changes in practice are adopted in a timely manner. 7. Oversees the management of philanthropic funds assigned to the division or service line and assures these funds are appropriately utilized to support divisional activities. This activity includes the regular monitoring of fund additions and expenditures assuring activities are appropriate and Position Title: Division Administrator Department: Pediatrics Page 2

consistent with donor intent. Collaborates with the Foundation in preparation and stewardship of philanthropic proposals/awards. 8. In collaboration with NU, and SMCRI staff, and Principal Investigators (PIs) in the division provides oversight to research grant activities, including funds management. 9. Ensures that all medical group regulatory and accreditation requirements that apply to their divisions are met (e.g. physician credentialing and licensure). When appropriate, will work with operational and divisional leadership to assure compliance. Assists with the implementation of institutional initiatives in their respective areas of responsibility.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

1. Bachelor’s Degree and 3-5 years healthcare operations management experience required. Master’s Degree preferred. 2. Demonstrated leadership skills. 3. Strong analytical ability; ability to understand and interpret financial data; solid quantitative and qualitative skills. 4. Ability to communicate effectively in a leadership role with clinical, business and administrative staff. Strong customer service skills. 5. Exceptional verbal and written communications skills. 6. Academic practice experience highly preferred.
