Directions
Turn into Clayhill Farm, Westoning (MK45 5JD)and come up the driveway through the avenue of trees. Just past cottage you need to make a sharp right hand turn into the field. It is easier for lorries to continue past the entrance and then swing round in a circle back to the gate. This gate needs to be kept shut at all times please. Please do not bring dogs with you.
Format.
Class 1: Show jump in the ménage – immediately to rustic jumps in enclosed paddock (1 circuit of rustics). Optimum time: 250 m/m
Class 2: Show jump in the ménage – immediately to rustic jumps in enclosed paddock (2 circuits of rustics). Optimum time: 300 m/m
Class 3, 4 and 5: Show jump in the ménage – immediately to rustic jumps in enclosed paddock (1 circuit) followed by cross country course in main field. Optimum time for class 3 and 4: 325 m/m. Optimum time for Class 5: 350m/m
Timing starts from the first rustic fence.
Course Walk
There will be a short opportunity to walk Show Jumping and Rustic fences just before each class.
The cross country in the main field (Classes 3-5 only) may be walked any time from 9.30 am until the start of Class 3.
Class 3 (60-70) = Orange numbers
Class 4 (80cm) = Blue numbers
Class 5 (90cm) = Green numbers
Please note there are 2 L fences for Class 4 which will each incur 15 penalties. There aren’t enough flags to put crossed flags in front of the jumps for the other classes so please make sure riders are aware which jump they should be jumping for their class.
Dress
Competitors may wear cross country colours if they have them but must wear body protectors. Ideally competitors should also wear skull caps and medical armbands (under pony club rules both are compulsory for classes 3-5)
Refreshments
Hot dogs, hot and cold drinks and cakes will be available to buy near the Secretary’s trailer.
Prize Giving
Will take place shortly after each class near the Secretary’s trailer. The Challenge Cup for Oakley Hunt West member closest to the optimum time will be presented at the final prize giving for Class 5.
