Job title / Whole School Approach Coordinator
Accountable to / Project Manager – Children and Young People
Hours / Full-time: 30 hours over 4 or 5 days (not job-share)
Salary / NJC Points 25 - 32
Contract term / Fixed term contract to 31st July 2013. Maybe extended subject to funding.
Job overview:
As the Whole School Approach Coordinator you will lead and expand this unique and innovative approach to preventing violence to women and girls in a secondary school environment.
The fourteen key tasks and responsibilities:
1. / Build and maintain relationships and communication with secondary schools with the goal of these schools incorporating a Whole School Approach to the prevention of violence towards women and girls.
2. / Coordinate, develop and deliver sessions, programmes and events with pupils as currently identified within the Whole School Approach Framework and new sessions, programmes and events in response to requirement and demand.
3. / Alongside the Children and Young People’s Manager, review the Whole School Approach sessions, training tools and resources to ensure they meet NDVF core messages and in keeping with NDVF brand.
4. / Coordinate, develop and deliver training to secondary school professionals to improve responses to the issues of domestic violence, improve safeguarding practices and to support the development of the Project.
5. / Develop tools and resources to support the delivery of the Whole School Approach and gain pupil and teacher input.
6. / Identify, source, include and facilitate external resources and organisations to become part of the Whole School Approach Package offered to secondary schools.
7. / Support the development of a WSA licence package and train and support licence partners.
8. / Coordinate, train and supervise Freelance Project Workers, including being jointly responsible for arranging quarterly meetings.
9. / Collate monitoring data to provide an effective evaluation of the work delivered for funders, schools and NDVF
10. / Support the development of Policy with Governors and Heads within secondary schools to reflect the framework and support the Whole School Approach.
11. / Support schools with safeguarding children, providing relevant information and resources
12. / Keep up to date with relevant legislation, policy and practice, especially safeguarding and gender issues
13. / Support and assist the other work delivered with children and young people and in the development of NDVF as a whole.
14. / Any other duties as required of you by NDVF
