Placement FY2 Emergency Medicine The department A busy emergency dept seeing 84,000 new patients per annum. A wide case mix of medical, surgical and trauma patients including approximately 20% children The type of work to expect and Full shift pattern, including nights, supervised by learning opportunities a middle grade or consultant always accessible. Acute care and resuscitation focus on the curriculum, plus medical and legal matters. Audit opportunities for Clinical Governance. Supervision of FY1 and medical students allows for teaching opportunities.

Where the placement is based Blackpool Teaching Hospitals Clinical Supervisor(s) for the Mr Kidner / Mr Argall / Mr Tucker placement Main duties of the placement Initial assessment of patients in all areas of the department, under close supervision of the senior medical staff. Typical working pattern in this Mon to Fri full 24 hour cover provided working placement a variety of 8 hour shifts during the week Sat/Sun : 7/13 weekends max. 12 hour shifts On call requirements: all shifts are full shifts Employer information The employer for this post is Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
