Before the Event

Large-scale event

Create Facebook Event, and be clear that it if it is a ticketed event, RSVPing on Facebook is not the same as purchasing a ticket. Invite Kiwanians and others to the Facebook Event. Share with other Kiwanis clubs on Facebook.

Have a link (URL) that leads straight to event information, whether that is a separate website (Regatta, 5K), a Facebook Event, or a page on the Kiwanis site.

Share the link with other Kiwanis Clubs and Ohio District and Divisions by email.

Send link and other relevant information to Event Calendars in Columbus, including Columbus Monthly, area radio station websites, Experience Columbus, ThisWeek, Business First, Columbus Underground.

Smaller event or volunteer opportunity

Write article with complete information and send to Paul for newsletter.

Ask Paul to include on Activity Calendar.

Share information with other Kiwanis Clubs and Ohio District and Divisions by email.

Share information on Facebook.

Ongoing Collection Drive, Ongoing Volunteer Effort

Publicize when it is to begin

  • Ask Paul to include on Activity Calendar.
  • Share information with other Kiwanis Clubs and Ohio District and Divisions by email.
  • Share information on Facebook.

One week before it ends, again:

  • Ask Paul to indicate information/progress/deadline in the newsletter.
  • Share information/progress/deadline with other Kiwanis Clubs and Ohio District and Divisions by email.
  • Share information/progress/deadline on Facebook.

After the Event

Large-Scale Event

Post photos to Facebook Event or separate website (Regatta, 5K) or Kiwanis Facebook page.

Ask partners/speakers to share their photos of the event.

Send photos and write-up to:

  • Paul for newsletter
  • PR Committee for additional ideas
  • The partner organization(s) involved in the event, asking them to include it in their printed and digital communications
  • Attendees, where appropriate

Send press release if appropriate and post to partner social media pages.

Small-scale Event or Volunteer Opportunity

Send photos and write-up to:

  • Paul for newsletter
  • The partner organization(s) involved in the event, asking them to include it in their printed and digital communications
  • Post to Kiwanis Facebook Page
