Starting Salary: $11 hourly

Position Summary

Primary job duties are to provide child care and activities for children of clients participating in YWCA Spokane programs. This position is charged with client and program security.

Responsibilities

This position may be assigned all or some of the following job responsibilities:

  1. Provide child care and activities for the children of clients participating in various services provided by our Alternatives to Domestic Violence Program and Women’s Opportunity Center at both the Counseling Center and/or the Safe Shelter.
  2. Work with Childcare Coordinator in coordinating hours scheduled.
  3. Provide a nurturing and safe environment for children.
  4. Work closely with Childcare Coordinator in planning developmentally appropriate activities/games.
  5. Encourage positive behaviors with children by modeling appropriate skills.
  6. Have open communication with parents of the children being cared for.
  7. Maintain confidentiality of all the families utilizing the childcare services.
  8. Report any suspected child abuse to your supervisor and/or CPS immediately.
  9. Maintain organization and tidiness of the classroom areas where childcare is being provided.
  10. Perform all other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Qualifications

  • High school degree or a GED and one (1) year related experience working with children.
  • Some coursework related toearly childhood development preferred.
  • Survivors of domestic violence are encouraged to apply.
