The Lapid School in Sderot, Israel is a rehabilitation center for Russian immigrant children and young adults who became victims of the terror in Israel. The goal of the school is psychological and medical rehabilitation, as well as assistance in either academic or vocational training. Ultimately, the Lapid School mission is to help victims of terrorist attacks to return back to normal life, graduate from high school, and to become productive members of the Israeli society. There is a waiting list of more than 200 desperate students who cannot be accepted because of limited funding. The administration consists of five people working as volunteers. The Lapid School director collects no salary. In fact, she has been using personal funds to keep the program alive. The annual budget includes office rent, fees, and salaries (teachers, a psychotherapist, and a physical therapist).
