Responsible to: Customer Services Area Lead

Location: Cross College

Working Hours: Full time

Grade: Band 4

Salary: £22,025- Band 4

Purpose of the Role:

Work with the Customer Services Area Lead as part of the Student and Learning Support Service to provide an effective applicant/learner focused careers education, information, advice and guidance service which offer impartial, high quality support.

Main Duties:

·  Undertake the functional management of the team of Employability/IAG Assistants; monitoring and co-ordinate their work

·  Provide timely CEIAG input to applicants and learners of all ages

·  Impartially support and inform the decision making processes of potential applicants, applicants and learners to ensure recruitment/progression onto the correct courses, thereby optimising their chances of success

·  Contribute to the review and development of the K College CEIAG service; and increasing the emphasis on the ‘employability’ outcomes for learners

·  Support the CSAL to address staff performance concerns and undertake the annual performance reviews of these staff

·  Support the Applications process to ensure that unsuccessful applicants are offered support to find an alternative course option

·  Support the coordination of college-wide progression activities including liaison with curriculums and monitoring of progression form completion

·  Develop and implement a programme of transition opportunities that meet the needs of a range of applicants

·  Work closely with KCC, Connexions K&M and the Virtual School to prevent the incidence of learners Not in Employment Education or Training (NEET) particularly those that are Children in Care or Young Care Leavers

·  Work with College course tutors and personal tutors to plan and deliver a programme of careers education to learners including elements of the Study Skills Programme

·  Develop opportunities for all learner to access careers education activities and materials

·  Coordinate and monitor the provision of learner advice and information for UCAS Apply including the system administration

·  Support the College’s course marketing initiative through the provision of labour market information

·  Attend College information and publicity events to provide careers information advice and guidance as required

·  Contribute to the College provision of courses related to Advice and Guidance

·  Represent the College at KCC CEIAG planning and collaborative meetings and events

·  Maintain accurate records and develop statistical monitoring of CEIAG provision provided to learners

·  Produce reports related to careers provision and its impact upon learners and their success

·  Contribute to the gathering of progression and destination information of learners completing or withdrawing from their courses
