Safeguarding Message for Parents

Keeping your child safe is a priority at all times and we have been increasingly concerned about the number of children (and some adults) who have been reported riding their scooters and bikes once inside the gates. This is a hazard to other families and we ask for everyone to support our school rule to dismount from bikes etc. before walking through the gates.

Please support school by reminding children that they must dismount from bikes and scooters at the outer gates and walk into the cycle rack area to lock-up their possessions. Helmets must be worn until children have stored their bikes and we cannot allow a pupil to cycle home without their helmet.

To help keep your child safe:

We have recently had a number of reports of children from Years 3-4 rushing out of the inner gate to collect something they have forgotten after being dropped off. We are concerned that this may lead to a child being locked out of the gate and potentially being missed from registration or more worryingly not coming back into school. If your child has forgotten something please drop it into the front office and we will ensure it is taken down to class a.s.a.p.

At 3:20pm EYFS/KS1 children and at 3:30pm KS2 children who remain uncollected will be taken to the front entrance area and we will contact you for further details. If we cannot contact you and children have not been collected by 3:45pm we will place them safely with HETTY until you can arrange for them to be collected. (Parents will be responsible for payment to HETTY)

Please inform us if you have special family arrangements, a ‘sudden emergency’ or have arranged for someone other than yourself to collect your child.

Please remind children to put their helmets on before they cycle to school.

Best regards
