Heidi Vistisen informed class reps that she was in continuing discussion with the ERA team to ensure best communication with students. Students’ Union Annual General Meeting

The Students’ Union Annual General Meeting will be held on Tuesday 21st March from 4.15pm in Maggie’s. The AGM will present the sabbatical officers report, Students’ Union Account and a proposal to change terms and conditions of the Trustees Board. All students are invited to the AGM and welcome to bring up proposals and questions.

Surveys

Many surveys are ongoing at the moment. Final year UG students may fill the National Student Survey whilst other students can fill the QMU Student Survey. The Students’ Union is also running its own annual survey, which closes on Friday 17th March 2017.

End of term

Before leaving office, HV will work on a handover for the new incoming Student President. She will also focus on changes to the Constitution and review of the online marking system with registry.

5. ELIR

The Enhancement-led Institutional Review is an external review of institutions and takes place every five years. The purpose of the review is to assess the academic standard of programmes delivered by a University and make recommendation for improvement. QMU will be going through ELIR in 2017-2018.

6. Feedback from Class Reps

Smoking on Campus

Class Reps remain unhappy with people smoking close by the entrance of the building. Whilst most students would prefer to keep a campus where it is allowed to smoke, it is felt regulations should be enforced and people should use the smoking shelter.

Heidi Vistisen informed that she had already feedback to the University. She will contact them again to raise this concern.

7. STaR Awards

Nominations to the Student Teaching and Representation Awards are open until 17th March 2017. Students may nominate staff and students who have been above and beyond and made a difference to students’ university experience. The Awards Ceremony will be on Tuesday 21st March from 5.00pm in Maggie’s after the AGM.

Further information on the STaR Awards can be found on http://www.qmusu.org.uk/top- menu/your-voice/star-awards . Students are encouraged to nominate students and staff.
