Goals:

●To get a better understanding of the history and demographics of Dublin, CA.

●To be able to explain the responsibilities of the major leaders and groups that make up the city government.

I.Describe Your City (5 points)

a.Location (include map)

b.Demographics (population, race, political party, income)

II.City History (5 points)

a.Write a brief history of Dublin. Include how it came to be a community and how it was incorporated (how it came to be a city). Write up should be approximately 1/2 pagedouble spaced.

b.Create a timeline that highlights developments in the history of Dublin -include at least 5 events.

III.Mayor and City Council (5 points)

a.Identify current members and responsibilities of the city council.

b.How would one go about running for city council in Dublin? Term of service, age and other requirements, campaign limits, term limits.

IV.City Staff (5 points)

a.Identify: City Manager, City Clerk, Police Chief, City Attorney, City Treasurer (Administrative Services Director)

b.Include: name and job description.

V.City Commissions and Committees (5 points)

a.List all city commissions and committees.

b.Select 4 and describe their responsibilities, identify examples of accomplishments.

VI.Media (5 points)

a.Find 1 current news article about Dublin regarding a political issue (from 2015). Respond to the article in a paragraph.

VII. Works Cited List (5 points) - Follow correct MLA format.
