Fitting Room Measurement Instructions

Take the measurements in your normal underwear. Measure just what is there, not tight, not loose. First, take a piece of elastic or string and tie it around your waist - it will find your natural waistline so you will have a place from which to gage your measurements.

Important! It is very important to do this first step – without an accurate waistline, all other measurements will be inaccurate, and your corset will not fit.

I know this is a daunting process for anyone who is not familiar with sewing. Do the best you can, I have become very good at spotting measurements that just don’t look quite right, and may ask you to re-measure. Your specific corset design may not need all these measurements, or it might need something more specific. I will let you know if there is any thing else we may need to know.

Horizontal Measurements:

Overbust or chest: Measure around the chest, above the bust

Bust: Measure around the fullest part of the bust

Underbust: Measure around the rib cage under the bust

Cup size: What size cup do you buy when you buy a bra

Distance between the apex of your breasts: Measure from nipple to nipple, across the front of the body

Waist: Measure at the waistline as marked by the string or elastic. If you have worn a corset before, you can also give us your waist measure with your corset on.

Hip: Measure around your body at the level that you want the bottom of your corset to be – this level should be above the pubic bone, and not below the crease in your legs when you sit in a straight chair.

Vertical Measurements:

Length Center Front: Measure up from the waist to the level of the nipple, and down from the waist to the bottom, remember that there is often a point in the center front, and not past your pubic bone.)

These two measurements should add up to the total center front length.

Length Side Front: Measure up from the waist and over the bust to where you want the top of the corset.

Measure down from the waist to where you would like the bottom of the corset. Note that corsets often curve up at this area, over the thighs for ease in sitting (Again, these measurements should add up to the total side front length)

Length, Side: Measure waist to top under the arm, and waist to bottom of corset

Length, back: Measure waist to top, waist to bottom – Note that corsets are often higher at the top of the back, as it reduces the “roll” at the top of the corset.

Please add your height, and aprox. weight
