Basic Carpentry - Residential

36 hours $300 + materials

Learn home carpentry installations and repairs. Emphasis is on planning a job, selecting materials and safely using power and hand tools. Practice dry wall installation, finishing and repair, and how to install trim around doors, windows, and walls.

Basic/Intermediate Cabinetmaking

36 hours $300 + materials

Machine safety, layout, blueprint reading, milling, joinery, assembly and finishing will be covered in individualized and group instruction. Some materials can be purchased through the school. Projects require instructor approval.

Basic Welding

Students learn oxyacetylene and shielded metal arc. Tuition includes supplies.

Brick and Block

36 hours $300

Students learn the basics of masonry including estimating, laying brick and block by cutting, chipping, fitting and using bonding materials, building footers, squaring, and handling elevations.

Basic Machine Tool Technology

36 hours $300

Learn the basics: layout, dimensioned drawings, tooling, machine safety & operation for equipment includes lathe, grinders, mills & drill presses.

Basic Auto Body Repair

30 hours $280

Learn how to make basic adjustments to fenders, doors, hoods, and moldings. Instruction includes repairing dents, straightening, welding, installing parts and moldings, preparing surfaces, applying primer/surfacer, painting, stripping and spray painting. Students will purchase their own materials and supplies based on the needs of their projects.

Basic Wiring - Residential

30 hours $280

Learn to safely repair, replace or add outlets to circuits, wire additions, work with water heater circuits or ranges, etc. Emphasis on the proper and safe use of tools, choosing materials and code compliance.

Computer Basics

18 hours $220

This course is designed for the beginner, with no prior knowledge of computers necessary. Includes terminology,component identification and operation, and the purpose of operating systems and their usage. An introduction to Windows 10 will be covered as well as basic computer maintenance including virus/malware identification and removal. A brief overview of mobile devices and operating systems will be included.

Computer Hardware, Troubleshooting, and Repair

24 hours $190

This course focuses on foundational information technology concepts including hardware components, software, network connectivity, and preventing security risks. Students will be given an in depth look at all computer hardware components and will learn how to successfully build a working computer from parts. Troubleshooting common computer issues will also be covered. Prior knowledge and experience with computers, or successfully completing the Computer Basics class is a prerequisite. Material covered will help prepare students for various Microsoft and CompTIA industry certification exams.

Ø  Anyone interested in PennDOT must call for more information.

Ø  All registrations (with the exception of PennDOT and late start classes) should be received by Friday,

February 17, 2017; late start classes by the first day of class.

Ø  All tuition must be paid in full at the time of registration.

Ø  Cost of books and materials are extra.

Ø  Check or money orders are preferred. Please write separate checks for each class.

·  You will receive notification by Tuesday, February 21, 2017, if your selected class will not run. For Late Start classes, you will receive notification no later than two days before the class is to begin.

Ø  If a course is cancelled by EWCTC, you will be notified by phone and your original check(s) will be mailed to you after February 24, 2017. If you paid in cash, you will receive a cash refund by making special arrangements with Linda Miller, by calling 724-539-9788, extension 302.

Ø  If you elect to cancel your registration, you must notify the school no later than Friday, February 17, 2017, or the starting day of a late start class.

Ø  NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN FOR CANCELLATIONS MADE AFTER February 17, 2017, or the starting day of late start classes.
